Iverson is totally overrated. He can't get anything accomplished on the team. His numbers are so inflated because of the millions of shot attempts he's taken. Damn, if I took that many shots in the NBA I would have the same numbers as him. His attitude sucks so hard, and he has a Napoleon complex.
On another note - it's nice to hear true Laker fans post in this thread....how come no one is trying to refute us? Because Lakers rule!
Maybe you don't follow basketball, and didn't see
this stat. TMac led the league in scoring, b/c he took the most shots per game. Who ELSE can score on Philly? Orlando? Look at Kobe, he finished 10th in shots per 48min in the league with Shaq there. These are all
go to guys. It's only appropriate that TMac (28.10) and Iverson (26.47) took the most shots, so they would finish 1-2 in scoring. Look at Baron Davis, for example. He took the fourth most shots/48 minutes (25.05), yet finished
6th in the league in scoring at 22.9. Iverson averaged 26.4pts, and took 1.4 more shots than Baron (the equivalent of about 3 points more per game). Funny, but Baron scored 3.5 ppg less than Iverson! Does that mean Baron sucks too? By your logic of just throwing up shots, Baron sucked as well and is "overrated" (hint: he was a shoe in for the All Star Game).
Iverson had 2.40 steals this season injured which was more than Baron Davis who
led the league at 2.36 (
Iverson averages 2.38 Steals per Game CAREER), Shawn Marion at 2.11, and Ron Artest at 2.08. Iverson had 6.8 assists per game which puts him at
7th in the league. His 26.4 PPG was
2nd best in the league, and he also contributed close to 4 boards a game. In fact Laker's fanboy, Iverson has better Assists, steals, and PPG than Kobe career. Kobe beats him in rebounds/game by 1(he's 6 inches taller), and has slightly less TO% and higher FG% (and he shouldn't miss much with Shaq to box out the biggest man on the court, Iverson has never had a good big man in Philly).
Iverson also got the line more than Kobe/48minutes and finished 4th behind Shaq, Maggette, and Duncan. Still overrated?
Last but not least, you can talk all you want about Iverson's rant about not coming off the bench, but that was a result of him and Ford's dislike for each other. So much that they canned Ford and brought in O'Brien to coach next year... seriously, why in the world wouldn't you start the 2nd best scorer in the league?? Ford was a dumbass, and it cost him his job.
