a few points...
Bob Ryan is an 4ss. He says things that are borderline insane to get people talking about him.
Kobe is overrated? Ask any GM in the NBA if he is overrated - not one of them will say he is. He is one of the top 5 players in the NBA. Personally, the only non center I'd take over him is LeBron.
Vince Carter is a fantastic player. Three years ago, they were a shot at the buzzer away from beating Philly and being in the NBA finals - that team also had a young Tracey McGready on it. For some reason, they let him go, and have made a series of terrible trades, free agent signings, and drafts, though Bosh looks like a keeper from this past draft. The guy gets injured sometimes - big deal.
Iverson is way overrated right now. A few years ago he was much better than he is now - and he has quite possibly the worst attitude in NBA history - he is a great example of what is wrong with many of today's young athletes - they think the world owes them, and that they should be able to do as they please.
Jerry Stackhouse is overrated.
Peja is not.
Karl Malone is one of the top players in NBA history - he might not be the player today he was 5-10 years ago, but come on, he's 40.
True, Payton isn't nearly the defender he used to be.
Bill Walton was arguably the best NCAA basketball player of all time. Early in his NBA career he led his team to the title as well - then his career was marked by a series of very bad leg injuries - in no way, shape or form was he ever overrated though.
Zach Randolph most improved? His minutes jumped, and so did his production - that isn't improvement, its opportunity. Boozer didn't play much more this year than he did last year, yet his numbers increased dramatically - he was much more deserving of the award.
