You don't have a "right" to tint your windows. I already can't see past your fucking SUV, tinting your windows makes it impossible for me to see through it and is a safety hazard.

tl;dr people who tint their windows should diaf

It all depends on how dark it is. Most will have real dark tint that it's hard to see at night. I don't know how anyone can see at night with super dark tint. I only have 30% and it's hard for me to see anything without street lights.

ignorant much? maybe you should drive a car with 2.5% and you would know that you can see just fine. Besides, i know how to use my side mirrors and not noob my head around to look behind me.
Also note i said 20% as well as the 2.5%. now use your head and imagine where the 20% tint is located and the 2.5%. jeez
Helpful hint: your side mirrors don't allow you to look directly behind your car.

What a moron.... In a normal car you have to turn your head to see the blind spots... Although if you drive like a granny it may not matter since all the other drivers will know to avoid you.

Even in large vehicles where it's not possible to look out the back, they have two sets of mirrors one that covers the blind spots of the other to compensate. Not to mention the main mirror is usually huge. Considering what you've posted so far you should not be driving.

It also makes sense that no one bothers to pull you over... A riced out neon going 45 on the HW doesn't get much heat.

You can barely see through 5% tint...are you sure it was 5%?

That is what I was told by two different tint shops in Lawrence. It was just enough to notice something on the window, but not enough to hinder any view.

EDIT. 95%, not 5%. Thanks for clarification.

As a CDL daily driver myself, a small compact car does not require the large mirrors of the Semi/dump trucks cause the mirrors are strictly related to the size of the vehicle..duh. Although so you know, i have driven many dump trucks without the fish eye mirror.

also, i don't drive a riced out neon, but whatever, you ignore the responce of window tint. You can see with 2.5%. if you had it, you would know.
Stop making assumptions. just ask first before trying to be judgemental cause you can't handle someone telling you something.

You shouldn't need to turn your head more than 10-15 degrees in either direction to see what's in your blind spot. It is your peripheral vision that will pick up what's there. Turning your head completely around is totally unecessary if your mirrors are properly adjusted.

The only window in my car that isn't tinted is the windshield. Even the moonroof is tinted.

It's is absolutely impossible to see out of 5% 'tints' unless things are lighted or it's daylight.

It's funny as fuck to see super tinted cars with rear damage...the unfunny part is they probably collided with another vehicle rather than a stationary object.

I see out of mine just fine and I have never hit any thing because of my tints. I have had 5% on my rear windows for my last 3 cars.

Also, there is a different in the quality of tints as well. My last two cars with cheap tints were darker on the inside. This car, the place I went to used Llumar tints and they are still dark on the outside but have more viability from the inside. Even then, Ive never had a problem using my rear view mirror to drive at night with my tints.

This is why I have legal tint on the front and slightly too dark on the back. I can't roll down my back windows.

Hypothetically, you get pulled over for a dark tint.

The cops don't have the right to demand to check your tint percentage without a warrant no?

Scenario 2: You park your car at the end of the street just close enough so that no part or your car is in the painted crosswalk. You leave your car there for a week and then they give you a ticket the 8th day. WTF? This is a meter maid patrolled area. Contest?

#1, I don't think the cops need a warrant to insure compliance for certain things related to motor vehicles to make sure they are meeting legal requirements for operating on public roads.

#2, You can contest, and maybe you'll win. Doubtful though because it will be your word against theirs. However, if your car was parked illegally it doesn't matter that you got away with it for 7 straight days before somebody gave you a ticket.

I'm so happy that poor counties have tint meters in order to keep us safe from illegal tint drivers.

contest on what grounds?

most jurisdictions that I'm aware of allow for one ticket per day per violation... the only request you can make here is that you didn't get 7 more tickets than you got.

either the area isn't monitored continuously, the meter maid decided to give you a break for a few days, maybe it was raining and they didn't feel like getting out of their car, or maybe shifts changed and a more hardass monitor took over.

but it's not much different than when you're parked in a handicapped space in a loading zone with an unpaid meter and the meter maid only gives you a ticket for one of the violations.

Not hypothetically, a cop is a man with a gun and legal authority. So unless your life is threatened, shut the fuck up and do what he says. You can go to the press, sue, and get a multimillion dollar settlement after, and you'll be maximizing your chances of not having your teeth kicked out. Just make sure to record all you can.

And nice sunglasses are infinitely cooler than tinted windows.
