There are too many good older ones, but imo the current best anime that is airing right now is Shingetsutan Tsukihime so far it doesn't have sex, nudity, but it does have some violence, great story, and great characters.

Serial Experiements: Lain
It's some of the best anime I've seen and up there for some of the best film that I've ever seen. It's such a surreal series.

Spirited Away is a little childish, but it's an excellent movie.
Record of Lodoss War is entertaining, but it's pretty damn long
Blood: The Last Vampire is cool, but too short
FLCL is funny stuff too

He's asking for PG13-ish animes. Ninja Scroll does not fit that bill (and, yes, it is great).

damn me for not reading the first post all the way! and definatly not Ninja scroll for the young...
and most of the ones i would think of have been said
Cowboy Bebop is amazing though, great stuff

most of the people i know that have seen it don't like it... because of the crappy animation in the 1st stage which obviously got a lot better by the 3rd stage... but lo and behold... now that there's a drifting bandwagon across the country... all of them love Initial D now... :frown:

Hellsing's good. Not sure that it'd be suitable for your little brother to watch though.

Initial D did to drifting what the F&F movies did to streetracing.

Brutalized it. :(

Now there's dumb kiddies trying to drift in Mommy's Corolla.

Newer stuff:

Last Exile (1st DVD should be out soon)
Hajime no Ippo (boxing anime)
Prince of Tennis (self explanatory)
Peace Maker Kurogane (cross betweem Naruto and Kenshin, starting off a little slow though)
Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu (no action but damn funny)

Older stuff:

Read or Die (3 episodes but I liked it)
Witch Hunter Robin :)heart: this series)
Escaflowne (the TV series, not the movie)
Beserk (badass)
Full Metal Panic (everything except the ending was pretty good)

FLCL?

This cool chick comes from outer space and smacks the kid over the head with her guitar and robots start coming out of his head and that's the basic outline of the story

Robotech - because its storyline is by a non-Japanese person who pieced together 3 Japanese animes to make one grand story
