Knights of the Old Republic

Now, if only Pirates of the Caribbean's success would pave the way for the Secret of Monkey Island movie...

It does. Extra uber merchant with good stuff on an extra location on the map you can fly too. At that merchant you can get 2 additonal colored lightsaber crystals (orange and a light blue) that have uber powers.

BTW guys, dont forget the $5 off coupon at BB! Get the black jewel case gamers gift card put a couple bucks on it and inside it is the $5 off $19.99 or more game coupon. Use your new gift card, and the coupon and you can get $5 off instantly.

The PC version has better graphics. The X-Box finally got the material that the PC version had through a live download. If it is just you I'd recommend the PC version. My fiance however loved watching me play the X-Box version, and she is not a gamer or star wars fan at all...take that for what it's worth though.

Did you guys find this game hard to get started with? I checked out the XBOX version at my sisters house this weekend and found the first 10 minutes or so very frustrating. I hear such good things about it, that I really want to give it a try, though.

KOTOR is one of the most simplistic RPGS out there, catered to the general public, so you will not have any problems with it. Simple battle system and rules. A dissapointment in some ways to RPG fans like me, but very fun and EXCELLENT storyline all around.

Btw, the Xbox only got the merchant, they did NOT get some of the even MORE uber items in the game.
This is a great deal for a game that will take away 20 hours of your life! 40 for most, as you can play through game both Evil AND good, its very interesting that way 🙂

It's not that difficult. The beginning does a good job of holding your hand. It does take a while to really feel like you have the hang of every aspect of the game though. Then again, it IS a long game too.

I've been an RPG fan for years now, and i've come to realize that overly complex does not equal better, even for an RPG. KOTOR is simplistic in many ways, but the bottom line is that it is FUN. Very fun, and immersive.

Just a personal note, I checked on this game just early last week, and my local Best Buy in Lexington, KY had it for $24.99. It wasn't any kind of sale, so I don't see why it shouldn't be any higher anywhere else.

Great game... working my way through Korriban now. The beginning is slow because you're waiting to get that lightsaber... then it's all about hacking up your enemies. 🙂

The beginning IS slow, but the midgame and late game are awesome.

Especially level 2 civilian / lvl 18 jedi.

I've easily played through it 5 or 6 times, and it was good every one. I always found new stuff that I missed the last time too.

Don't forget the graphics quality is better on the pc compared to the xbox. The pc has 1024x textures available. The xbox on has something like 578x or something like that.

You can also buy it direct from lucas arts and if you buy the pc version they throw in a light saber letter opener 😛

Is this a game that a six-year-old Star Wars fan could enjoy on easy setting, with some assistance from his dad? He is an experienced gamer but loses interest if the gameplay is too difficult. For instance, AOTC on easy is a favorite of his. Thanks for any help.
