the knight has enchanting skill of 290 and the right stuff to make dragon slaying enchant for 1hand glass of water and applied it to the water. after they drank the water, the knight pulled out his potion that cures all poisons that he made before they drank the water.

(assuming that the knight doesn't cheat and somehow find plain water or drink from well #1 ahead of time.) The knight could give the dragon whatever water he wants, and the dragon only has to fly up to well #7 to be cured.

You need to specify if there is unpoisoned water anywhere on the island, or if they're allowed to drink before their duel.

It only says the well water is poisioned, we can assume there is water surrounding the island and it's clean.

"one day..."
Implies, they have lived there for some time, so they'd need fresh water. That is a bit of a strech, but no need since it's an island (thus surrounded by non-well water).

For the riddle to work, drinking from a higher level well doesn't have any negative effect if you are poisoned from a lower level: it ONLY cures you.

seawater wouldn't work; the dragon would taste it, know it wasn't well water, and deliberately NOT drink from Well #7.

Of course, that brings in the angle of mixing some seawater in with your well water to trick the other party...or mixing water from more than one well.

Do you KNOW if you're poisoned? Is it possible to wait until you feel the effects of the poison, THEN drink the cure?
