Fuck reclining seats. When someone in front of you reclines the top of the seat goes right into your face. Your only recourse is to recline your own seat, and the last seats in the plane don't recline, so unless there's an empty row somewhere, some poor sap is sitting there upright with a seat in his face.

This.

I'm tall enough I just jam my knees into the back of the seat in front of me to keep them from reclining.

Could maybe be the airlines at fault for being money-grubbing cheap bastards cramming more seats on a plane than is reasonable for passenger comfort?

I didn't know such a device existed. I totally would use it - I think the reclining airline seats are stupid, you only gain a couple of degrees of change and it's more psychological than actually making it more comfortable.

But by using these things you put someone who was probably intelligent enough to book a seat that wasn't on the back row in the same shitty position.

It's not allowed on most airliners in the US. But good luck I guess.

If you recline your seat in coach class you are one of history's greatest monsters.

From the article:

Spirit Airlines and Allegiant Air take the reclining mechanisms out of their seats, leaving them permanently upright.

I approve of that. A passenger that reclines just forces the next person back to recline and then the person behind them has to recline and so on. Keep all the seats locked upright and there's no problem.

Wow, I'd have beat the shit out of both of them for making my flight land early.
And I'm reclining my seat no matter what. F the person behind me.

So what is the chance that the stewardess just randomly said to remove it vice the bitch complaining "her seat didn't work".

welps never flying those two.

United Airlines said it prohibits use of the device, like all major U.S. airlines.
...
The fight started when the male passenger, seated in a middle seat of row 12, used the Knee Defender to stop the woman in front of him from reclining while he was on his laptop, according to a law enforcement official with knowledge of the situation who spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak.

A flight attendant asked him to remove the device and he refused. The woman then stood up, turned around and threw a cup of water at him, the official says. That's when United decided to land in Chicago. The two passengers were not allowed to continue to Denver.

Guy was a dick, I hope she got water on his laptop.

If you hate people exercising their paid for right to recline their seat, stop being a cheapskate and fly business/1st class. I will continue to be a coach flying cheapskate because I don't care if the person in front of me reclines.

And I'm kicking my foot into the back of the seat for the entire flight. Fuck the person in front of me.

Presenting your stereotypical internet tough guy!

... and I'd be kicking your seat the entire flight, to share my comfort with you 😉

I think all the airlines should either get rid of the reclining option, or install the seats such that one person reclining doesn't mean the person behind them is completely squished. If there was enough room it wouldn't be an issue.

Just because you live your life as a coward don't assume that everyone else is just as pathetic. Not everyone is afraid of strangers. If I don't want a persons seat in my face I'll do something about it. Grow a pair, you might like it.

So you rectify this situation by using a device that physically prevents him from doing what he has every right to do?

I guess if I think a guy is being too loud on his phone, using a cell phone blocker is the least cowardly thing to do in that situation.

You are an internet toughguy. You kick the persons seat over and over after being ask to stop will end with you being hauled off the flight by officers. You really showed them!

I don't care if the person in front of me reclines. I expect it actually. It only moves back a couple inches at most and I usually recline my seat too so what's the big deal? We all have to fly in the same shitty conditions so why not do whatever you can to make it more comfortable for everyone? Is that couple inches of air between your face and the seatback in front of you being used for anything more important?

The ONLY time I EVER purposefully didn't recline my seat on an airliner was when an active duty Marine was sitting behind me. I was flying from Texas to San Diego with my wife and son and I thought out of respect for him and the sacrifice that he made that I would give him a little extra room at my expense.

Everyone else can go fuck themselves.😛
