damn seems like everyone got almost new speakers without dents or blemishes... I really hope mine will come like that 😱 btw, anyone know how long it would take to ship to southern california (the store seems to be located in CA since I got charged up the ass with tax =/ )

The lady I spoke to said they ship out of MEMPHIS, TN. My tracking number confirms that at least mine was. I just finished setting them up and so far they sound great. All I need are some stands, I guess I'll look around CC to see if they have any compatible.

edit: errrr, is there any speaker stands for these that arn't the $90 ones on klipsch's website? I'd rather not pay almost the price of the speakers for 2 stands.

How about these?

How do you see your shipping status? When I clicked on the link from the ecost website, it takes me to an UPS page with nothing filled in for the tracking number. All the other fields are empty too. I tried manually copying the numbers (and several variations) but UPS says they are invalid numbers.

I just got my speakers today. All of the wires are there and the set came in new condition. I agree with the other poster about the lack of instructions. The sound quality is wonderful. I am very happy.

😀 Just got home from work and saw a big box sitting on my porch. Opened it, and yeehaw! The speakers arrived today. Every single item in the box looks BRAND SPANKIN' new w/ all cables included. I've hooked em up and they sound great.

However, I do have one problem. I'm currently using the SoundBlaster Live 5.1 mp3 soundcard and of course, this set is a 4.1 setup. My question is this: How the hell do I get all 4 speakers to work? I've tried just about every combination hooking the green/purple plugs (from the Klipsch 4.1) into the soundcard. HELP!!!!!

There's definitely power going to the *silent speaker, but no audio response! I'm thinking it's not a defective speaker due to the fact that the speaker is receiving power. To reiterate, I'm curious to know where to plug the cables (from Klipsch 4.1) into the soundcard (Soundblaster Live 5.1 mp3)? This question will probably be answered best by someone who owns this set of speakers being run with this soundcard.

Any info is appreciated. THX

EDIT: Problem fixed. Had to load SoundBlaster utilities and set speaker setup to 5.1 and oddly enough, every speaker works. These speakers rock! Before these I was using the Cambridge Soundworks DTT3500 (also awesome), but these blow em out as far as sound quality.

Order info: I got to mine by clicking on the link in the E-mail I was sent. It took me to a ecost page where I entered the shipping number or what not and it then gave me a UPS tracking number.

Stands: I'm think I'm looking to spend around $30, but that looks like it won't happen so I'll just have to wait. I'm also too lazy or busy to build my own.

Connections: My brother has his 4.1 plugged into the first 2 ports on the sound blaster live 5.1. On my Fortissimo I have it plugged into the last 2 spots, green in the one labeled front and purple in the one labeled surround.

Ugh. Mine looked wonderful but they sound horrendous. Tons of static/hiss when the speakers are on even without any sound and the sub seems completely shot - sounds like a ruffling plastic bag. Any suggestions?

it seems like they got more in stock...so I took the plunge and ordered some. I hope they will be in the "like new" category. 🙂

Hey, I jumped on this deal and love these speakers, so a big thanks from a seldom poster!

I had the same problem DarkNephree, What I ended up doing was reinstalling all the software packages that came with my soundcard. Because I generally just install the drivers, it wasn't using all of the outputs (I guess at least). Then once I had done that, I downloaded all the upgrades from creative.com. Like for all the MediaCenter crap and stuff like that. And then I was able to use the soundblasers configuration software to set everything up, and sure enough all of my speakers now work. So for me at least, there was nothing wrong with the speakers. it was a matter of getting the soundcard to work properly. One other thing to watch out for too was that I unplugged and replugged the speakers into the soundcard so many times, that when I finally was using the software to configure things one of the plugs wasn't in all the way. lol so I had to crawl back there one more time to make sure all the plugs were tight, and then I was rockin with my new speakers!

Hope it helps a little.

anyone else get significant static/hiss from the satellites?

I've gotten alittle static when adjusting the volume once or twice. I haven't turned any of the speakers up past half way though so I'm not sure past that.

the Klipsch promedia 4.1's are known to have hiss/crack while adjusting the volumes, so if you are getting hisses from that it should be fine... as long as it doesn't have wierd sounds normally 😱

hmm...
i had a grip of static on my front left, no matter which satelliete (sp?) i tried there. even touching the cable going to it would make the sound all wierd. to fix this, i tried resetting all the connections on the subwoofer and it apparently fixed my problem.

if you get static, i would try redoing all the connections. anyone else non-plussed that none of the connectors are gold? or at least copper? i wonder if monster cable or something makes aftermarket nice cables for this thing.

it definitely sounds way different, (can feel it in my throat : ) from my cambridge soundworks mini set. besides my little gripe about the cables, this is an awesome deal. thanks OP!

Received mine yesterday..wont have time to hook them up till tonight though. Went to Compusa and picked up the SB Audiogy 2 ZS that is on sale for $69.99 after rebates to replace my live value so here's hoping for a kickbutt sound upgrade for under 200 bucks!!

Thanks

bgmartin

ps: They look new and all wires were included

I was aware of the static when adjusting volume. But I'm saying all my 4 satellites have very audible static hiss even when there's no sound output. It so audible that it's annoying when I'm just sitting in front of my computer, writing an email. I tried all sorts of combinations with switching wires, plugging them in again and again into the sub. In any case, I called up ecost and they're shipping me another set and picking these up. So their service is good since I don't have to pay for return shipping. I just hope I get a good set this time. It's awezome that they ship from Tennessee because that means it takes only 2 days to get to me (NYC).

my set should be here within a few days..

im always paranoid when ordering something refurb ;/

i hope i get no static and all the speaker wires are included. :/
