Puckett Dies Following Stroke
Hall of Famer Kirby Puckett died Monday, a day after suffering a stroke at his Arizona home, a hospital spokeswoman said. The 44-year-old Puckett, who led the Twins to two World Series titles before his career was cut short by glaucoma, was stricken Sunday morning at his Arizona home.

Growing up in Minnesota and being a Twins fan in the Kirby era, this is very sad news to hear. They didn't say much about him after the stroke, so figured it was pretty bad.

oh Kirby, I will never forget the time you almost ran me over and splashed me with water because you didnt want to sign a baseball card for a 12 year old kid standing in the rain
(i got his autograph the next spring training though)

it took me a while to like him after that, i dont think my mom ever liked him afterwards, but i hope it was just because he was having a bad day or something
