Kingston HyperX 2-3-2-6 2x1gb PC3200: $160

IS there a problem mixing memory brands? I have the Corsair in my sig below and am ordering a Opty 165 for an upgrade today. I'm trying to decide if I can get by with ordering 2x512 here and just putting it in my rig along with the Corsair, or if I should get the 1x1gb pack and just find another use for the Corsair?

Either option should be ok but there could be problems when running two types with different spd's.

Also with 4 sticks, you will at least have to run at 2T command rate, reducing some performance.

Then again, if you just sue the 2x1GB, you'll be wasting the corsairs if you don't use it also.
 
Anybody have their order ship yet? I ordered on the 21st, it says it's in stock, but the status of my order is just "Order received".
Also, the old price of $160 is gone, it's now $189 :frown:

i never got email ... but i checked at site and my order has shipped.

checked tracking number and it's on the road.

I think the response to this deal was so big that they're trying to milk it now ... the price has gone from $160 to $165 to and on up . 😀
 
Got credited $10 off the $160 price today. So I got the $150 price, but I did have to pay tax. Memory runs fine and shipped fast.
 
Okay, I jumped on the Page Computers deal...but now I'm a bit worried cause I gave them my physical address (doesn't get USPS mail)... but their shipping page says they use UPS/FedEX/USPS...can anyone confirm that they will ups/fedex my RAM and not USPS it so I can stop worrying?

BTW the fact that if your on their customer support line too long it hangs up and tells you to e-mail them is retarded. =p

The deal was last week. Supposedly there was a private coupon, "savebig", where the link got out and people were ordering for $150. I had just bought for $160, so I sent customer service the link for the cheaper price and asked for price adjustment. I'm glad I went this route, as many people that ordered for $150 got their order cancelled.

I would not worry, I think there are going to be some killer deals on cheap ram in the next couple of months.

Thanks for sharing. There might be less chance of price drop on ram because of Vista release. The demand for ram will be greater for people who anticipate to upgrade to Vista and oem system manufacurers beefing up their configuration for be Vista ready.
But on other hand, it seems initial frenzy on the ram price drop for Kingston may already satisfy quite bit of tech-savy PC users and so the demand might drop for it. But the OEM demand is probably going to have bigger influence on the ram price.
 
I received my 2gb Hyperx kit yesterday- used the 'savebig' discount - $150+9 tax ..
I guess I was lucky I didn't get cancelled on?

Page Computer blows, they cancelled my order also (said they're out of stock) even though the item page still indicates a couple in stock. My first time to place an order with them ... and my last. :roll:

I went with the ZipZoom deal instead.
