Kingston HyperX 2-3-2-6 2x1gb PC3200: $160

I thought hyperx was lower latency than that... but nevertheless, a solid deal for those needing ddr but who still have a good cpu.

well, spring is when they hit their lowest- but yes it is winter currently 😉
early year I suppose would be more accurate..

Nice. Wonder if it would be compatible with a P4P800E-deluxe? Their memory finder doesn't list it under the board (doesn't list any HyperX?)

My son's P4P800E-deluxe hates HyperX. It would not run 1 pass of Memtest86 at 2-3-2-6 at 200Mhz and stock voltage without errors and crashed Windows. RMA'ed them and the replacements did the same. He's currently running them stable at 2.5-3-3-6. Could be his MB.

anybody know if this will work in a Dell Dimension 2400? I know that it 'should' work but I can't find anybody who KNOWS that this will work. It isn't listed as 'system specific' for a Dell anywhere. I currently have some Kingston Value Ram in it but that was 'system specific' memory.

Also, what is Kingston's return policy if it doesn' work in your system (IE: it's not actually broken or defective)? They are very vague on their site.

Thanks

So according to the "datasheet" on this, you have to overclock to get the advertised speeds? Am I reading that right? Seems odd.

In for 1. Thanks OP & StumbleBum1!
This is way better than the best price of $172 I was thinking of spending for regular Kingston ValueRam from ZipZoomFly.
I'm hoping with 2 Gig, I'll be able to connect to a BF2 server the FIRST time, instead of timing out because it takes so long for my system to cache everything...

edit: finally shipped, got mine at $150.

A friend of mine is running these sticks at 2.5-3-3-6 stock voltage with a northwood 2.8C at 3.36.

I couldn't get kingston's crappy site to check me out, but was able to find the same ram set at page computer for $163 after shipping. It had a shipping charge but no state taxes so it worked out about the same.

The site is running too slow to checkout. I keep timing out.

Also, substituting "SAVEBIG" for "HYPERX" on the sale specials links works on other HYPERX products.

A stick of 512MB PC3200 HyperX is $42 as a HYPERX promo and $39 as a SAVEBIG promo.

and 1gb was $75
and yeah- sites being obliterated by purchasers...
dont think there will be a Kingston DDR surplus for much longer...
EDIT- damnit- SAVEBIG promo seems to be killed...

You have to manually enter those timings into your BIOS, otherwise you'll get 3-3-3-8 if set to auto.
