my local CC was out so i special ordered and got my reciept and rebates. Im going back on saturday to pick it up and it still applies since i special ordered. sweet
Hmm. Didn't know they'd do that!

At CC on Sunday, I went in as soon as it opened. One Chinese guy was grabbing 3 at a bunch but looked at my sorry face and gave me one. At the counter it was just us and another Asian guy hoarding all the ram. Very geeky.😀

I'll prolly grab another one this week, but at another store using different e-mail and mailing address. Should avoid any "one per household' rebate confusion", although I think this applies more if you get 2 or more at the same time. Paying cash also, since I charged for the first one.

I did a special order as well, it is what they do instead of rainchecks i guess.

I had checked the bb website and sunday paper to see if it was $55. But its like $159 on there webpage. I just thought maybe you were on crack or something, hehe. J/k 🙂

So did you get the pm to $55 ?

If I sent someone up there to make two different special orders, could they special order one in my name, for the MIRs?

"Any idea who makes the RAM chips?"
the one g from previous deal was infineon/aeneon
other ones are mystery meat like memorex
google the markings off the chips. hth

Sorry, meant CompUSA.

They were OOS so I did a raincheck order. I am going to take a copy of the CompUSA website printout when I go to pick-up and try and get PM.

Just scored one from my local CC. I think they had a few more to. When I called, the guy counted off like 6. And when I picked it up today the guy said if thats the only one i wanted. I might go back and get another one. I also bought some of the 9.99 pc games so i didnt have enough at the time.

My mom goes by CC every day, so I had her try to special order, but the guy talked her out of it, saying it can take a long time, and it's better to order online. Doh! Guess I gotta go all the way out there myself.

When you special order, the MIR is still good, right?

I don't see why not? I special ordered and they gave me the MIR papers and my recipt. From what the guy was doing on his computer I think all special order might mean is that that store orders it for you from circuitcity.com or whoever they get their ram from and sends it to you instead of the store.

will 2 of these chips work in dual channel mode? and what are the timings/latency on these chips?

edit--> after reading online, i guess any RAM should be able to run in dual channel mode so long as the motherboard supports dual channel and you install in matching pairs...

i'm gonna head down to my local CC today after work and special order this stuff, it seems like too good of a deal to pass up.

3-3-3-8-1T, but the chip will run at 2.5-3-3-8-1T up to about 209MHz. May do a some tests this weekend to find the max speed.

just special ordered 2 of these sticks (1 by me, 1 by my sister)... after rebates and taxes, should come out to about $40 for 1GB of PC 3200 RAM... pretty hot deal if you ask me 🙂
