Picked one up. Very nice deal. On a side note, someone commented in another thread that the Data Traveler's read/write speed was slow. It's listed as 6MBps Read and 3MBps Write, but there is a customer comment on the Buy.com page for this drive that says he benchmarked to drive and it's more like 9-10 MB/sec.

Saw it at $15 AR this morning, passed. Saw it at $10 AR a few hours later and jumped. Blasted internet is going to make me broke...

I own this drive and I can confirm that they are in fact very slow - slow for reading and every slower for writing. But hey, for the money, whats an extra 2-3 seconds per transfer?

I got this drive about two weeks ago from buy.com for $33 after google checkout discount. It's a decent drive, performance isn't good but isn't horrible. It's pretty small but the key ring connector seems pretty sturdy.

I went for the following drive for the same price however its only half the capacity. Its rated as being a lot faster (20MB/s write and 30MB/s read) and certainly more durable than the kingston drive. They claim its made from higher quality flash memory and will last 10x longer than others. That kingston drive to be honest looks cheap in comparison. The choice is capacity or quality. Why can't we ever get both?

Good call. I cancelled my order for the Kingston and opted for the ATP Tough Drive. 2 gigs is useless to me if it takes half an hour to fill it.
Here is a review of the ATP. They were very impressed by its speeds:

I just received this drive today and I ran HDTach and it read at 11.7 MB/sec.
I ran the following tests twice and took the average (both tests were close).
I wrote to the drive with one long file 213 MB and it took 45 sec for a 4.7 MB/sec write.
I wrote to the drive with 46 JPEGs totaling 73 MB and it took 18 secs for a 4.1 MB/sec write speed.
For comparison my 18 month old 512MB Sandisk Cruzer Micro was 17.1 MB/sec read on HDTach and the 213 MB file wrote at 46 sec for 4.6 MB/sec. It wrote the 73 MB of JPEGs in a woeful 39 sec for 1.9 MB/sec.
Now my 512MB Corsair USB drive was the best reading at 17.0 mMB/sec. on HDTach.
It wrote the 213 MB file in 23 secs for a 9.3 MB/sec write. The 73 MB of JPEGs was written
in 13.5 secs for a 5.4 MB sec write.

Is Google CO broken or something. I've used it before no problem. Today when I try to use it, I get to the summary page where it asks you to 'create an account' or 'sign in'.
One problem though... no buttons and no fields to fill in??!?? wtf?? Cleared cache/cookies/enable scripts/etc,etc - same thing.
Can someone else take an order to that page and see if it works for you?? Its probably something on my system but I can't figure out what...

Zeus:
If you are ordering this 2GB USB drive, google check out doesn't seem to work on items that are not in stock. It won't work for me. But GCO is still active. I tried it on the 1GB SD card here and it worked. Try it and see if the GCO works for you.
Kingston 1GB SD card

edit:
bad link

Thanks for the reply 'esquared' but its still a no go. Hmmm... I dunno what the deal is with this.
I tried again after CCleaner+Reboot and just selected a random in-stock product.

ScreenShot Notice no buttons, no fields - verything else looks normal.

I'm trying to think what I may have installed in the last week that could possibly cause this weirdness. I last used it on the 10th without issue.

Well, I decided to check today since I hadn't heard anything and apparently my drive is "on order". They didn't even bother telling me that it was backordered. Such BS IMO. May have to cancel the order if it doesn't ship here in the next few days.

Edit: The worst part is that they already charged me for it!

I've been looking for a drive, like the idea of the ATP but $40 after GCO? Was there a rebate I didn't see?
