King-size large-cluster Eiderdown comforter - $17,520

Uhm, does that include a free current-model-year Mustang GT with every purchase? Or perhaps a free "overnight sleep-testing session" on their comforter, along with the supermodel of your choice? If so, then it could potentially be a hot deal.

Otherwise, think that it would be cheaper to make a nice warm comforter, out of shredded $100 bills. (Hey, now there's an idea...)

fuggin pricks who buy this chit.... disgusting ain't it? why not get a few homeless family's a freakin efficiency for a year.

Egad, ban him on principal 😛

Yes, this "person" should be banned immediately. The hot deals forum is not meant for practical jokes. Read the rules, and post this kind of stuff somewhere else, preferably not even on anadtech at all (maybe you can find some newsgroup that will like your "funny" humor).

Any guides/FAQs about getting into the Eider duck business??!!

1. Buy ducks
2. ...
3. PROFIT!!!

According to another website:

Most of the worlds Eiderdown comes from Iceland, Scandinavia and Canada, and is hand collected from the nests of the Eider Ducks. No Eider Duck is ever harmed, or even touched during the collection of Eiderdown.

Happy nest hunting.

has anyone actually ever laid on one of these? who knows, maybe it might be worth it (if you had the money)

I can't imagine comforter worth that much regardless how it felt... it cost more then my car actually i could probalby 5 of my cars...

What must the thought process be for someone justifying to themselves spending $17,500 for bed linens? That they'll be cold at night with anything less expensive?

Err, this forum used to be pretty sociable, along with the occasional humor thread once in a while, just to keep things lively. Sorry that this forum isn't living up to your standards.

Although, in terms of the technical rules of this forum, the post is allowed - it is in fact quite a significant money-saving deal, although it is probably beyond the financial resources of both you and I, so it doesn't apply to us. In that case, perhaps, one should simply refrain from comment, rather than ask for the banning of a poster that posts a deal that doesn't personally apply to you. (Such as a $100,000 Lexus, "on sale" for only $95,000. Maybe that actually *is* a deal to some.)

Obviously, humor is incompatible with you.

Thanks, Larry. I appreciate that YOU appreciate the spirit in which my post was made. Obviously, most others do, too.

You should know that User1234 isn't lacking in humor. Ironically, he'd (she'd?) be a much happier creature if only that were his problem. I've run into his antics several times on these forums, and he inevitably tries to stir things up (search on his posts and you'll see what I mean). His classic approach is a combination of making snide little comments and flaunting his so-called superior knowledge base. Once you recognize what he's doing, it becomes impossible to be upset, because you realize he can't seriously believe most of the things he says. In other words, it's all a pose by a desperately lonely person. I can only imagine what his day to day life must be like. I really DO feel sorry for him.

This was obviously not meant to be a post about a hot deal, but rather an intentional attempt for a joke. I can assure you no one thinks it's a hot deal.

See. Here's a perfect example of User1234 in action. Note how very important it is for him to make the amazing point (not clear to any of the rest of you, I'm sure) that my original post was something other that a gee-whiz, honest-to-god, slam-dunk deal. And therefore, under AT Forums Rule 2.B, subsection 3(ii), revision 4, THIS IS AN ILLEGAL POST!!!

Thanks, User, how could we possibly have missed that? Guess your powers of observation are that much more acute than ours. We bow down.
