I am willing to bet that this is a hot deal for people who have the money to buy stuff like this. If such a person walks into a B&M store where one of these can be purchased/ordered (I couldn't even begin to imagine where one can be purchased..., probably some boutique store in NYC or Beverly Hills or something), that person will probably pay thousands more.

Just because we belong here, that doesn't mean we don't have any money. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the "silent" members (who never really participate in the conversations) ordered one.

I had the privilege to sleep in one of those "Presidential Suites" at a Hilton Hotel. The company I worked at the time paid for it, and it was around $2000 for a night. Hilton said that the president of some European country stayed there before my girlfriend and I did. It was literally a two-story mansion, once you walk through the door. Anyway, to make a long story short, the down comforter in the bedroom was the lightest, softest, warmest (and cool at the same time) that I have ever experienced. I mean the damn thing "hugged" you! Maybe this is the same one.

So user 1234 has to add:
"if you don't have anything to add on this off topic, then just stfu"
-------------------------

This sniffling little jerk-of* is getting to be more humorous than the originality of this great post.

He (user1234) now sees that 99.999% of Anandtech readers and members would personally (or non-personally - I am not sure how "personal" anyone wants to get with this persona ...LOL !) care to wring his neck (putting this decently for the more delicate members and readers here). So now what does User1234 do ? He chooses to retaliate "back" at them (see above quote).

How ORIGINAL the name "user1234" is. I mean .... How many martinis did it take him to craft that ?

The only thing that actually, and logically seems "off" about this "off topic" - as User1234 puts it - is User1234 and his grossly distorted view of how he has been so wronged by the very world he attempts to exist in.

Lest we forget what brought us to the dance, let me say AGAIN how Blessed we all are today
for Shira finding this super source of Great Fun ! - And let many of us express our Deep Appreciation for Shira taking his time to locate this neat site and posting it so many many of us today could have a GOOD LAUGH !

I for one have enjoyed laughing both at the site as well as as User1234, who for some reason, forgot what reason he got on the Train of Life to begin with.

Thanks again, Shira ...... Job WELL DONE !!!!

Well, thank you, thank you :)o).

I was just thinking how fortunate most of us our to have to actually PLAN the spending of our money. I mean, it's actually fun to research how to make the most of limited resources, and is an inducement to interact with others. I doubt that someone who shells out $17,500 on a comforter is going to spend hours every week figuring out how to build a computer system on AT forums; that person will just pay someone else to do all the work.

Did anyone got their delivered already ? I wonder how you paid for that, can you charge this much to your credit card, or do you have to wire the money first ? Maybe they have financing. Anyways, waiting to hear impressions from the lucky owners

As difficult as it may be to believe, some have credit lines beyond $150 secured 7-Eleven © cards.

Oooo, nobody, no animal is allowed in the room that isn't toilet trained!

I do dig this thread - it's funny!

You know, if you had that kind of money, there would be far worse ways to spend it. I bet if you had this thing you would treasure it immensely, and not just because it cost a bundle.

Nah, no way. If LuSER1234 was actually a famous comedian, he'd probably have to be... Dennis Leary, perhaps, except ... Leary is ... actually funny.

theme song

Edit: Fixed.

Please don't capitalize my username, it is very [case] sensitive. And do you really think JL would have a 7-11 credit card, even if it may be the closest food place to my house.

Are you kiddding? You think that people that have these actually know their children? The only way for this to happen if the nanny has the same set on her bed.

(Sadly, there may be instances on this world where that is in fact true.)
