The absurdity of the question is so absurd.

Killing is not white or black. The circumstances need to be taken into account.

What the fuck does that mean?

That was in reference to killing someone, I do not make assumptions in those situations.

ugh... your logic is so infallible to yourself that you have no idea how to be wrong...

Your first 'i make no assumptions' had NO qualifier, thus you can't then go back after the fact and add a qualifier...

John Kerry... you need to make that your name.

Really?! I had no idea that this forum's edit button had been deleted, or that when you make a point you can't expand on it afterwards, that's a shame, so many people must have so many problems if they can't ever explain themselves.

I'm not going to, and I don't get the reference.

I'm not going to, and I don't get the reference.

John Kerry... flip flopper...

let me restate this..

You first said 'I make no assumptions'

and then about 10 minutes later said 'i make assumptions'

and then got called on it.

after getting called on it, you started back tracking.

that's called being John Kerry... or FLIP FLOPPING

Or right, so you misunderstood what I said, I explained it and you started calling me some obscure reference to an American politician?

You want to participate on an AMERICAN forum, you need to learn these 'references' and John Kerry is not exactly OBSCURE... Im pretty sure he was the Democratic Nominee in 04...

and i did not misunderstand a single word...

please tell me what this means...

i'm not assuming anything.

please tell me what part of that i am misunderstanding?

No problem here's the quote in context:

so... you are assuming they are there just to say HI???
I'm not assuming anything.

You stated what you thought I was assuming about the intruder, and I replied, I'm not assuming anything.

Okay, so I stated that you were assuming the intruder was just a thief... you then stated you assume nothing, you THEN say...

You told me he was a threat to your livelihood. I assumed that meant he was a thief?

I do make assumptions of course, everyone does, but when it comes to ending someones life I do not.

but yet I thought we weren't assuming ANYTHING about why he was there?

let me reiterate... if you break into my house, the last thing you will hear is a bang, and perhaps you will be lucky enough to see the blood rush out of your chest.

Thief not found.

but yet I thought we weren't assuming ANYTHING about why he was there?

Then you thought wrong, in the second scenario you told me that he was there as a threat to your livelihood, which I believe means stealing from you...

let me reiterate... if you break into my house, the last thing you will hear is a bang, and perhaps you will be lucky enough to see the blood rush out of your chest.

Let me reiterate... I know how you feel, and I don't give a shit so stop telling me what you'd do. I don't know why you keep posting.

"well i'd kill them"

"well I'd shoot them"

"the door would open a gun would fire and they'd hit the floor"

I've got it, you are happy to kill someone who comes into your house. I got it.

no, yet again... I am happy to kill someone who is threatening my livelihood... which doesnt mean "coming into my house" it means "broke into my house" I don't care if he was there to steal photos, or to rape my wife... he will be shot, because he is a threat to my livelihood... The emotional burden that would be put on me from knowing that I let someone break into my place of residence and was unwilling to protect it with force would probably haunt me for the rest of my life, while killing someone while protecting my place of residence would greatly help me knowing that I am willing to protect my own shit...

ah... so while you like debating, you don't like it when someone posts his own opinion that you can't seem to refute?

I can refute it but you don't care, on the basis that you have a fundamentally different level of respect for all human life than I do, you know what I think, but you think that someone being in your house is worth killing them for. I clearly don't this is where we differ, we both know this, I'm not asking why you think what you do, because you've said, over and over. So now I know, and I don't care, if you think that breaking and entering is punishable by death then there's not really anything we can debate past that fundamental point is there?

Yet again you are twisting the fuck out of my words...

Threatening my livelihood != B&E

B&E typically means that no one could possibly have gotten injured other than those who did the B&E because there was no one home...

You're going to have to define "Threatening my livelihood"

So, rather than wade through nearly 500 posts Hal, what's your position on killing in a combat situation?
It's still "Murder, Death, Kill." You're taking the life of another human being...and often, it may not be a true self-defense situation.

Many of the Vietnamese soldiers I killed weren't trying (at that moment) to kill me...many didn't even know I was around. A few were even unarmed at the time...but were in uniform, so that makes them fair game in my book.

Breaking into my home while I am there... That is 'threatening my livelihood'

Now, they break into my home while my family/myself/etc is NOT there, that is just B&E and they did not threaten my livelihood, sure they fucked with me mentally but my livelihood was never threatened.
