I'm looking forward to that one too, mostly for ping pong, laser hockey, shooting and pool. It comes with a Wii remote, which is great... I have two now, and I'll buy another when Wii play comes out. Wii Sports and Wii Play aren't the kind of games that will sell a system on their own, but Wii Sports is great fun. Oh, Wii Play Tanks should be good too... sounds like Atari Combat :)

the only true next-gen game that is even out on the market at the moment is Gears of War on the Xbox360.

nothing can touch that game visually at the moment, and the gameplay is there to match. it took almost a year since the 360 was out to see the first next-gen title hit. that game is just a masterpiece from start to finish.

EDIT:

the list on the first page looks more like a list of games that people just want to see - not even necesarily next-gen games.

i mean how the hell is GT4 next gen when all the freaking game is, is gt4 in high definition? wow so it plays identical to gt1 (as all the other ones do as well) and just looks prettier ... wow that's so next-gen.

that is what makes up about 90% of the damn games in that list on the first post. they are all sequels. IMO, sequels rarely are any more innovative than their previous versions, typically only looking better in the graphics department.

Kind of ironic, I think, that in your initial post you essentially reduced "next-gen" to improved graphics, then in your edit you say GT HD is not next-gen because its only improvement is the graphics. :D

The reason the list in the OP is mostly sequels is because none of us have crystal balls to tell us what future games will be good. ;)

It's just a rumor at this point. Supposedly, the MGS4 producers are unhappy about the number of PS3s out in the wild in comparison to the 360.

I said graphics + gameplay to match. I have never seen such epic firefights as I've experienced playing through Gears of War. It just has the whole picture. The game feels like you are playing an epic movie. It is very cinematic. The sound is incredible. THe graphics, as I stated before, cannot be touched anywhere at the moment, not even on PC (i'm not a PC gamer, I'm just talking about from watching vids of PC games so don't quote me to this). I mean it has a single player game that can be played co-op the entire game through, and it doesn't feel "gimmicky" at all.

Another game that belongs on that list is Assasins Creed. This game looks like it's going to push the boundaries in the same ways that GoW did.

IMO, it's just that games that play 95% the same as their predecessors (gt X, gta X, halo X, etc) but have fancier graphics do not make them next-gen.

EDIT: i'm very picky as well when it comes to games, just cause i analyze the hell out of games in general and have a lot of experience playing a lot of games, so I understand if my opinion is not agreed on with everyone :)

I think there's a Tiger Woods golf game comming out on Wii early next year, that could end up being very cool, then there's super swing golf coming out in Dec., very popular in Korea (the previous versions). Overall I think Wii has the potential to have some great sports killer apps, even Madden has received pretty good reviews of 8+.

I think the Wii will see a lot of attempts at creativity, some of which will be great, others will be terrible.

Ultimately I think a Wii60 is the best way to go this generation, I don't see the PS3 doing more than the 360, and the 360 is better in online gaming.

They are the big titles that people want to play.

Nothing more, nothing less.
