"Killer apps" for the nextgen consoles?

Please dont list any cross-platform titles. With the exception of titles that are on 2 consoles but not the 3rd.

Im doing this to seriously consider which console would really be the best for me to buy, based on the only real spec i care about.

I liked mario party up until 7, the new one is just so kiddy that it takes the fun away from it, i feel like im playing a game designed for 10 year olds. The simple games were fun for everyone though and i used to enjoy playing it with family.

I havent really heard much about the new mario so i dont really know if it truely is good or not.

I hated mario sunshine.

I have a 360 currently and plan on purchasing a PS3 once MGS4 or FF13 is released. Otherwise not much has swayed for the PS3 quite yet.

The 360 is still quite lacking in platform specific games. Though the ones that are available are quite stunning (Oblivion and GoW come to mind).

Those are the games I'm looking forward to anyway.

Wii:
Red Steel (I don't care what anyone says, the reviews are too mixed to make a good judgement without playing the game yourself)
Smash Brothers (the newest one that isn't out yet)
Mario Galaxy (might suck like mario sunshine)
Emulator system (I enjoy me the older games )

And for both the PS3 and the 360 (I don't know if it's for the Wii also), GTA4.

I had the pleasure of playing Gears of War at a friends place the other day, it is seriously the best shooter out there right now for single player and co-op, and the vs. multi easily rivals all other console titles.

A lot of those titles are questionable in quality though. Saints row is looking like itll shape up to be good.

Yep. Might want to go check out Microcenter if you have one around. You can get a Premium for $300 after rebate + another $100 rebate if you sign up for a Microcenter credit card.

This kinda sways me tword the 360 as well, its cheaper to begin with, and i dont care about HD playback.

GTA4 is THE killer app for me. Halo 3 and Gears of War arent far behind.

Im really interested in Socom and Killzone though.

Obilivion is just the same game except they will include something that is downloadable content for PC and 360.

RE5 is coming out for both atleast in the states. it could be ps3 only in japan, it depends on the 360 will do.

Assassin's creed was supposed the ps3 exclusive but its coming for both. it was the secret everyone already knew.

Yeah....I can't wait for GTA4. If this is no longer a Sony exclusive, then there is absolutely no reason for me to buy a PS3. I think Sony may have put themselves in corner with this console for about the next year.
