The enormous elephant in the room for the BF series was the number of players per map on the console. It really undermined the entire reason for battlefield existing. Because that is now fixed on the next gen consoles, I really think a console will be a great platform for this game. I can't wait.
I think it will as well.
Personally playing a FPS with a controller feels like trying to scratch my nuts with a watermelon. And I *hate hate hate* aim assist.
That said, I realize that millions of people like it, and more power to em. BF3 was really hobbled on the current-gen consoles, it was just a bridge too far imho, and the experience was really compromised. With BF4 and XB1/PS4, there should be no gimpness to it at all. I'll be playing it on PC, but I think the console-only people will have just as much fun with it on their consoles.
People say that, but I actually only play the Close Quarters maps on BF3 (on PC no less!) now. I just disliked the feel of the larger maps in BF3 for some reason. BC2 was okay, but they weren't as large.
I understand. I think that's part of the genius of the battlefield games, there are so many modes and map/play styles that there's something for almost anyone. I personally hate the close quarters style small maps, but mainly because I've played FPS for well over two decades by now, and I have had my fill of that style. But I'm happy they're there for those that like them, it gives more people the opportunity to enjoy the title/series. I have a friend who plays 90% 64P metro, I can't understand the appeal lol, but he has a blast.
In the end, that's really the only point. Regardless of DRM, graphics, controls, whatever, if you're having fun, it's all you can ask for. If not, there are a bazillion more options out there.
