Probably not so much chose to ignore it, but were probably told it was "none of yer damn bizness, ya nosy snoop!" and that they would "raise this damn kid however i see fit to!" while the trailer trash was fondling a shotgun.

I will agree it's not uncommon to be threatened back, but just a simple anonymous call to DCS would have been very effective.

The article in the paper yesterday said that neighbors had seen children without diapers or shoes out at all times of the day and night. The neighbor decided to not call CPS fearing that they would split up the family. Ame the girl who died apparently was 4' 2" and 59 pounds and suffered the brunt of the abuse. Even the father's identity is up in the air. Yeah, a bullet to the head is waste here, but these people aren't exactly going to solve the great mysteries of life. Maybe they should be locked up in a foot locker over night. A-holes. Poor girl never had a chance.

Usually CPS does what they can to keep the kids with their parents if it is at all possible. If they're split up its because the kid is far better off away from the parents. Personally, I'd rather call CPS and have it be a false alarm than not call and find out the kid died.

meh. i don't find her size a indicator of abuse. though it does depend on her parents.

hell my daughter just turned 9. she is 4ft even and 45 lbs (last year on her birthdsay she was 3'10 and 39lbs). She eats a ton but burns it off with gymnastics and playing. i also bet she eats enough to give even you a run. She has always been in the 1-2% on the growth charts (parents know what that is) though she did hit 3% once!


hell as a freshmen iw as 5'2 and 96 (wrestled at 103). so it does run in the family.

It's VERY unhealthy for any woman to be that low on body fat. Food consumption <> health either.

96lbs and 62 inches tall is far healthier and you cannot compare male to female BMI's directly.

it definitely seems like a risk factor for abuse or neglect. atleast something that theoretically should be investigated assuming that child protective services had the time, money and authority.
