it definitely seems like a risk factor for abuse or neglect. atleast something that theoretically should be investigated assuming that child protective services had the time, money and authority.

I disagree with this. CPS can mind their own fucking business unless there is direct evidence of abuse, which her small size and weight alone does not support - unfortunately in this case.

perhaps. but it wouldn't be something for me to say abuse over. or hell even call it in DCFS.

there is a reason the scale goes from 1-100 it takes from every child. so you will have big kids and small children.

now if the kid was 75lbs then went down to 59 yeah i would have issues.

Size alone is not a reason. though it should take a invistagor 5 min to figure out. talk to the doctor heh.

my daughter is tiny. always under the 3% on both weight and height. BUT her doctor said she is a healthy child. she is fallowing the correct curve on the growth chart. she is just at the small end.

good points. i guess they should go breaking down doors, but it could be one part of the picture if there are other signs of abuse or reports from neighbors, etc.

Usually CPS does what they can to keep the kids with their parents if it is at all possible. If they're split up its because the kid is far better off away from the parents. Personally, I'd rather call CPS and have it be a false alarm than not call and find out the kid died.

I happened to see what happened with CPS in article in the AZ Republic and they referred to one of the neighbors saying that them.
