I just bought shoes for all 3 of my kids at Famous Footware and with the back to school sales i was able to get all 3 of them New Balance for about 22 each.

Why do I have a feeling you shop at ross? And your cheap!?

I wore payless shoes until i was in 8th grade and even then I had some junky reeboks that were white and turqoise or something like that.

Does anyone else find it ridiculous that children today are demanding high fashion when they are too young for it to even matter?

From Club Comic View:
"I took my daughter to buy shoes today, we stopped in front of the Payless Shoe Source and you know what she said?"

"Payless shoes ain't got no grip, make you fall and bust yo lip"

Sound off, 1,2, Sound off 3,4

kids like kswiss and nike and what not. so teach them an oldfashioned lesson and buy them plastic bags to wear over wool socks. 🙂 that'll shut them up

When you are 14, you just want to fit in, and fitting in makes all the difference in a childs in a childs life. I dont know how old you are. I am 22, and I remember being in middle school and my parents wouldnt buy me any expensive shoes or clothes.

And then you died, and it was all your parents fault because they didn't get you cool shoes.

you are letting your kid go without learning a valuable lesson in the value of money if you let them get expensive shoes while they're younger.

QFT on the day they're making the purchace decision being the day they spend their own green on it

Unfortunately, middle school is one of the short periods in life when fashion does matter.

Very true, I cared more then about the brand of what I wore much more than today.

I don't give a shyte what brand of clothing I wear now as long as it looks good on me.

Tell them to get a job if they want expensive "stylish" shoes. Then, when they are unable to get a job, get them shoes from Payless.

I just buy a pair of $75 dollar shoes from Foot Locker every year. They're brand name and good quality.

Every year? doesnt sound like good quality to me if you have to shell out $75 every year.

Actually, I've never been in Ross. We have one nearby, I just haven't gotten around to trying it out. I usually buy the kids stuff when it's on clearance at Fred Meyer (they put nice stuff for boys on clearance for insane prices, like jeans they sell for 40 bucks on clearance for 6 bucks), or at Costco (they have nice stuff for cheap), or on sale at Fred Meyer, Target, Mervyn's, places like that. My kids dress nicely, I'm just not stupid enough to pay full retail for clothes. I buy winter coats in January/February for the following winter for the kids...I get $80+ coats for typically less than $30, my last one was originally over $100, and I got it for something like $12 (it was a Columbia parka). Sometimes cheap is smart.

1. Wait for Footaction/Champs/Footlocker 30% off F&F.
2. Order shoes online (somewhat cheaper than b&m).
3. If they don't fit, exchange at B&m.
4. ...
5. Profit!
