Lisa Berry said the accident ruined her son's career dreams.

"All he ever wanted to do was be an Air Force pilot," she said. "That isn't going to happen now."

LOL...guess he filtered himself out of the Air Force.

What kind of a dumbass puts a frog in a potato gun anyway? Cruel little $hit... I'm glad he's blind. I hope people make fun of him for the rest of his life and never let him live it down... then they should make all kinds of blind jokes to him. Then maybe they could pull out his finger nails... yah, then they could pants him..... Then maybe they could make fun of him being blind some more...

I HATE cruel people! :)

Looks like you hate yourself too.

Guess you didn't get the sarcasm....

The kid was a bystander. He will be blind for the rest of his life.
Denton County Sheriff's Department spokesman Kevin Patton said the accident occurred about 1 a.m. Sunday when Daniel Berry joined a crowed of teenagers watching the gun be fired.

When it misfired, Daniel Berry looked down the barrel to see what was wrong when the gun went off, Patton said.

it'd be horrible if it really wasn't a misfire, and one of the other kids around fired it on purpose. Well, it's horrible anyway.

I feel bad for the kid, its not like he was being cruel to another person.... being blind for the rest of your life at 17 is fncking horrible.

I hope his sight returns, stupidity justifies a broke nose, not 50+ years of blindness. If he ever has kids now, he will never see them or their mother, or his grandchildren. He most likely won't even bother trying to graduate from college, and will struggle for any real job.

Damn I'm upset :(

I believe it's also a good representation of Karma.

Why are 17 year olds from Texas using potato guns for? Shouldn't they have real guns already?

50? Try 100 more, if medicine keeps going and life expectancy keeps rising...

Or less then a month/week if he decides to end his life himself.

Poor kid...I know how he feels, kinda. No, I was not dumb enough to look down the barrel of a loaded spud gun :p but I was on the recieving end. My family was camping a few years ago and I got up early, so I took the boat out to do some fishing. Don't know how long I was out, but I had drifted back downstream, and was directly across the river from the camp. Anyway, there I was, minding my own buisness, and I hear this WHUMP! followed by a splash right by the boat. Turned around to look up at camp, and there was my dad - laughing his fool head off and using the boat (and more importantly me) as a target for the spud launcher! He thought it was damn funny; I was about ready to kill him. 'course, I look back on it and laugh now. He wasn't seriously trying to hit me after all; if he'd wanted to, it wouldn't have been that difficult.
