Yea but they play TNG so often they start repeating within 2-3 weeks. I had to turn off my Tivo season pass to it because it was grabbing so many and erasing other programs I hadn't watched yet! I wish they'd bring back DS9 and play them in order.

LOL. I did the EXACT same thing. Luckily the TNG DVDs are coming out. :)

Edit: I can't wait for the Star Trek II: SE DVD to get here either! :D

Haha, you'd be surprised at how techology from Star Trek and technology from the "REAL WORLD" coincide. I'm a tech freak, and Star Trek does it for me.

Little hobbits and wizardry is not my idea of fun.

Star Trek/Wars IS possible...

LOTR...well....do you ever expect to see little midgets with furry feet and wizards who fight big dragons or guys who are millions or something of years old?

Didn't think so.

That said, I want to see LOTR. :p

ST II is probably my favorite of all the Star Trek movies. Even the title is excellent. It's not the "Revenge of Khan" it's the Wrath of Khan. :D

It was such a nice change from ST: TMP as well. It seemed like in the first movie they were just so happy to be on the big screen they didn't look at the pure entertainment factor. While TMP wasn't as bad as I had remembered it, ST II was a nice change. ;)

Well geeze LOTR is filled with swords and bows and horses and knights - the same thing our history is filled with. Sure they add magic in as well, but then I don't recall the last time I was in a holodeck. Both are equally fake I'd say.

a star destroyer would whip the enterprise's arse! the enterprise has a whole 1 gun! as long as a hero of the rebellion wasn't around the empire would crush the federation!

A holodeck is technologically possible, as is warp travel. Phasers? Possible and in development.

The day I see a flying, fire-breathing dragon, a wizard with magical powers, or a golden ring with magical powers is the day that Sandra Bullock leaves her lipstick on my sack!

Well the chances of you seeing a dragon are about the same as the chances of any of us here in our lifetime ever getting a holodeck.

Uh....from my reading, physics strongly suggests that warp travel will never, ever be possible. Not unless you are the size of a subatomic particle.

I personally put it in the same category as the existence of a god. It's possible, but...

Khan is the best Trek movie though.

Read the Popular Mechanics from two months ago. It has a big section on NASA's Advanced Propulsion division, and they basically state that if they can find a source of negative energy (which according to Einstein SHOULD exist), they'll be able to warp space and create propulsion (ie- warp drive). Since the space around the theoretical vessel would be streched, the speed of light would be increased in relation to normal space, therefore incredible speeds could be reached while keeping inside the laws of physics. Very interesting read.
