How is it liberals here suddenly have moral high ground? These are the atheists, the people with zero standards about decency, morality, or faith.
I'm an atheist, and my standards include believing we, as a society of enlightened, informed, compassionate human beings, should NEVER sink to the sewer level of ethics, decency and morality of the Bushwhackos criminality by committing acts of
TORTURE against anyone, EVER! Where in your dumbass theology does it preach such inhumanity?
The fact of the matter is this: This is about your ego, not morals. That's it. You guys wanna see Bush burn, plain and simple, because he's a republican.
NO! We want George W. Bush and his gang of murderers, traitors, torturers and war criminals held accountable for their crimes in a court of law. If they are convicted, they should be sentenced in accordance with the laws they have violated. If they are found not guilty, our system of justice should vindicate them. There is no excuse for holding them above the laws and the Constitution they swore to protect and defend.
This righteous crusade would be curiously absent from the left if this had happened to Obama. Give me a break. The republicans were no better with Clinton. I disagreed with the whole Lewinsky thing until he lied under oath.
Then you should give a break to real Americans who support and believe in our Constitution, our laws and our system of justice and call for the prosecution of anyone of any party who commits heinous acts like
TORTURE.
I'm tired of this "we are AMERICA. We do what is right because it's right" from liberals. You guys mostly believe that notions of right and wrong are just excuses to force ideology on people (unless it's your ideology, of course.)
"Our ideology" is embodied in the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America. The specific purpose of those laws is to "force" that ideology on our people. That includes "forcing" people who commit crimes such as murder, torture and war crimes to stop and to be tried for their crimes. That's why it's called "law en
FORCEment."

Yes, Harvey I'm familiar with claims that many at GITMO were innocent, but you said that the innocent were waterboarded; I've not seen any credible claim of that yet.
Nothing in thearticle you quoted mentions anything about "innocent being waterboarded'.
Given how many lies the Bushwhackos told us before they were caught committing the acts of torture we know about, what gives you any reason think others weren't tortured? Do you have a confirmed roster of every detainee and prisoner held by the CIA documenting which prisoners were and were not tortured?
The more important question is, do you know any reason that would excuse ANY American citizen for committing horrific war crimes, including torture?
If you think you do, you're the same kind of ethically challenged moral midget as the rest of the Bushwhcako apologists and sycophants. :|
