Keurig Quality seems low

They're great if you have a bunch of people who all drink something different. You can make a cup of French Roast Coffee followed by Hot Apple Cider followed by Earl Grey Tea followed by Iced Tea followed by Buttered Toffee Coffee followed by White Chocolate Cocoa followed by... all day long from one machine as long as you keep it filled with water.

I got some reusable K-cups off Amazon, ekobrew, work well for me. I get to choose my coffee and its stength.
I bought three and can fill them at home for use if I want variety, and keep a bag of my current favorite coffee at work if I need more or don't bother to bring the cups home..

These do not fit all Keurigs, a coworker got one thats much more difficult to use.

My mom got lazy and decided that each of my siblings and I would receive a Keurig machine for Christmas. She was at my house the week before Christmas, looked at my Saeco Aroma espresso machine, and said "Oh, I got you a Keurig, you can take it back."

Then after Christmas she tries to talk me into keeping the Keurig by mentioning that you can use your own coffee in them with a little adapter or something. Like I want 3 different coffee machines sitting on the counter.

I took it back to Macy's, bought a $200 coat for clearance for $40 as well as some other stuff I wanted and I still have some $ left over. The downside is if my mom is in town and has to stay with me she won't have a Keurig to use. 😀

We just got one for Christmas. I haven't tried it yet, but will tomorrow.
I just bought a 12 pack of Folger's Columbian for $8.99.
I didn't notice it was Folgers until I got home. It probably tastes like crap.
My grandma always drank Folgers Crystals, so maybe it is ok.

I only drink corporate crap coffee, so the Keurig is probably good for me.

Kuerig makes as good a cup a coffee as the coffee you brew with.
I like coffee flavored coffee and have found the green mountain extra bold double black diamond to actually taste like coffee. Not the cheapest at $0.60 a cup, but some good coffee.
Oh, and I've had my machine for a year (last xmas) and have not had a problem. Filtered water, so no need to de-calcify it. I clean the water tank about once a month.

we got a Mr. Coffee keurig for like 60 bucks for christmas with some re-fillable K-cups. Use your own coffee, and it is pretty good. Ours is just the single cup brewer, but its so nice to hit the go button, take a piss, and have coffee in your cup by the time you are done.

The companies making k-cups suck, get a refillable one and use your own coffee.

Im kind of a coffee snob, prefer my own ground (in a burr grinder, of course) and Im considering getting one. Why? Although I drink about a pot in the morning, there are times in the mid day or evening I just want one cup. Also, the wife likes some of the flavored ones and she's not a big coffee drinker. I think for people like me, getting the reusable filter for it and loading it with my own coffee is ideal.
The problem with your plan is that the Keurig doesn't brew hot enough, making the quality of the coffee you use somewhat irrelevant.

Got one this season, also got a reuseable filter to use my own. Definitely cheaper. Costco also has pretty good deals on them if whoever likes a specific one. I drink coffee for the caffeine, decent flavor helps, but always drink it black (unless I have some irish whiskey, baileys, kaluha, etc)

1. Buy $20 Black & Decker coffee maker from Walmart and $10 grinder
2. Buy $1 pack of filters and $5 bag of coffee
3. Grind beans, add filter, add water, turn coffee maker on.
4. ???
5. Profit

I can't see the allure of these single cup things. Maybe in an office? They do make terrible coffee. Plus the K-Cups are expensive and each machine has it's own proprietary cups.

drop a pack in the night before, when you wake up just close the jaws and hit the brew button and then walk out with your cup.

Optimal brewing temp for coffee is 190-200F. Keurig brews at 192 (according to Keurig's site. This is something I've already researched).

With respects I disagree. I dont consider myself some kind of coffee expert or anything, but im a big fan of Green Mountain Breakfast Blend. A good cup of joe to me. Can't speak about all the other blends though.

I have Tassimo. T-discs are not easy to come by in stores (but plenty either at Amazon or Tassimo direct), and I like the coffee it makes.

I actually gave the Tassimo strong consideration before deciding to go with Keurig. The one big negitive about Tassimo was its T-discs lack of availability in local stores.

I actually have a Tassimo as well that I've had for about four years. Recently though bought a Keurig because I got tired of searching for T-Discs since they became so hard to find. What happened literally a month after I bought the Keurig? Our closest grocery store, Lowe's Foods struck some kind of deal with Tassimo where they stock a ton of them, upper shelf. They also moved the Keurigs lower and carry fewer. They even sell the damn Tassimo machines in the grocery store now too next to the T-Discs. Oh well, now at least I have a ton of choices for both.

I probably know 50 people with Keurigs and no one has any complaints.

Unless you are a coffee bitch, it makes a decent quick cup of coffee. Probably the same types get all whiny about pizza and beer too.

I'm really liking ours, especially since I found flavored creamers like caramel macchiato and white chocolate.

I picked up one the other week, I'm back and forth on how good a cup it makes. Not all of the samples I got from amazon are made equal, but so far I have no complaints. With the refillable filter I can make my own coffee, but also found that I can rip open a tea bag and dump the contents in there and it works great!

I also find that it's a good source for quick hot water for instant mixes. I had some packets of cider and the Keurig heats up water quicker than anything else we have.

I'd be pretty cranky if I didn't get my 3 Jet Fuels every morning before I go to work. I've never had a problem with mine but I thought I heard that they are going to bring out a new style this year because the patent on the K cups are expiring?

Mine flaked out after a year. It's similar to a post a above. You hit the brew button and it just sort of hums at you. You can power it off, back on and nothing. Sometimes taking the cup out and reseating it helps. Sometimes it doesn't. Other times you press the big cup button and it brews the small cup. So you reset the lid and hit the small cup a second time to top off your cup and it brews a big cup and overflows.

And then it will go back to working just fine for a week or two.

Annoying.

The real appeal for me is my wife likes flavored stuff, and I don't. I can toss in a cup of dark stuff (neuman's extra bold is great!) and she can follow right up with a cup of gloria jeans hazelnut and both of us are happy.

I've been through 4 Keurigs over the last two years. I have the Platinum model and it keeps getting clogged internally. I do the descaling routine regularly, it just does not help.

I don't really care because Keurig just keeps sending replacements so it's all good.

Nice. Until that line, I couldn't understand why the heck you would stick with Keurig thru such failures, lol.
