The communists party's strategy from the 1950's on wasn't direct war, but infiltration by affecting Americas youth. Especially minorities. Anyone who preached against capitalism and freedom but for communism or socialism was a tool of the communist party.

All the communist party wanted of americas youth and especially the minorites was to be their tools.

Bodies being shipped with no end in sight did that for us. We have carefully avoided that mistake in Iraq. You can't even get accurate counts of wounded.

I have no doubt that the Soviets used demonstrations and had people in the crowd to stir things up. To claim their influence was so great that it CAUSED the whole protest movement is nothing short if incredible. Why stop there? Why not manipulate opinion and have the people elect a Communist govt? This more than strains credulity.

I'm not quite sure how you can discredit Ion Mihai Pacepa. He was a Romanian KGB General that defected to the US, who writes for the Wall Street Journal along with the NRO.

Maybe a better analogy would be that the KGB provided the episiotomy for the birth to the antiwar movement in America 🙂

He gives himself and the KGB to much credit. Freedom of Speech and the right to assemble had more to do with the Anti War Movement catching on and being successful than any Communist Spy Agency.

Colin Powell was there too.

I've seen some pictures that I thought we a bit grotesque, but then - what would I know.

I agree, much like Reagan tried to take credit for ending the cold war (or at least his fans do). Did he help? Probably. Was he the cause? Get real.

How many times do I have to say that is pure BS, It was put out by the so called peace movement, That got a lot of soldiers killed but won't go into that and the cut off ears was from some that were never in combat, Hell combat soldiers never even thought or talked about sex it was food that we talked about, Now if we saw a big T-Bone or even a bowl of beans we would have jumped on that and raped it
