Congrats Bush, you won again. The people have spoken. Here's to another 4 years.

Just knowing that half the population is against him is good enough for me. I guess this is why we have a maximum of 8 years in office.

The real question is, who the fsck are we going to vote for in 2008? :Q

If our country can ever get over racism, perhaps Barack Obama.... although I think he may be more likely for 2012 or 2016.

I predict that Obama will be the first black president (though I had hoped it would have been Powell). He has such an enthusiastic following as it is.

Don't bet any money on it.

Agreed. Very classy. I especially liked his message that the most important thing now is to work to unite this country rather than divide it.

I liked his speech - I wish each side woudl have show more of this kind of attitude.

We are a country of ideas and principles, and it's heartwarming to know we can discuss this on an open forum, no matter how passionate each side is. We don't riot, we don't throw bombs. No matter how divided we seem, we are still more unified than ever, not as republicans or democrats, left or right, but as Americans.

I thought here in the States, the network would be free of political influences. Other network did the same, but CNN is the worst.
---

So by conceding the state to Bush is NOT a political influence? I think they are not influenced by politics by NOT conceding the state untill all votes are tallied.
Then why are they calling any state? Every state has provisional ballots that could take a week to count. That argument doesn't hold water...

Those provisional ballats form other states aren't expected to impact the outcome. Although it's unlikly, it is possible that Kerry could still win Ohio. I don't know why CNN is not following suit with other networks, I was just saying that it doesn't neccesarily have to be because of political influence.

POLITICS AND NEWS! Or maybe we should start a "Political News" category for the people who start these threads.

As Kerry himself mentioned - and many others have - Kerry would need more votes than what would be possible with the provional ballots. It would be something like Kerry needs 120% of the provisional ballots. Even with liberal math, this will not add up.

let the mods worry about it. If they let the thread stay alive, then it must be ok.

But he has to be self-righteous and point things out to feel better about himself!

Never heard of him, but sounds interesting.. I like the idea.

I don't know much if anything about Hillary, don't quite understand why you all call her the ice bitch and things.. but I think it's more the idea of a woman president that I support.

I would also support a black president. Of course, I wouldn't ever vote just by party alone.. but I support the idea.

I read that there are ~100k provisional ballots in Ohio, and the spread is >100K, meaning over 100% of all the provisional ballots have to go to Kerry.

I also heard that number as high as 300K provisional ballots, meaning it would have to be a 1/3-2/3 split to over take Bush's 100K lead, which also is VERY unlikely to happen.

Now your a moving target, first it was wait until all ballots are cast, now it's just if it's close. What about PA? It's just as close for Kerry, with about 100K in his favor. They called it a LONG time ago. BTW, CNN has finally put Ohio to Bush, after Kerry conceded... They were the LAST ones to figure it out.

It's ok to figure out a network leans one way or the other, last night all Fox was doing was calculating how many votes Bush needed, and how all the exit polls could be wrong about Kerry winning.

Unfortunately, even if it's a small thing, unless the guy is christ-like, anything will be considered serious.

I'd agree, esp in the south. I see a woman president getting elected before a black one, as sad as it is... From what I have seen (little) about Obama, he's a dem I could get behind (I lean conservative). I would have to do some more reading about him though...

Obama is such a tool in the most literal sense. He is a articulate well spoken younger black man that the democrats are grooming for their purposes. He really is just being used by his handlers moreso than a typical politician.

Sure! I dont' doubt that both democrats and republicans do the same thing. No excuse though for either of them to do it.
