Kerry has conceded much more graciously than a lot of the Anandtech members, and they didn't even run.

Congrats Bush, you won again. The people have spoken. Here's to another 4 years.
Just knowing that half the population is against him is good enough for me. I guess this is why we have a maximum of 8 years in office.
The real question is, who the fsck are we going to vote for in 2008? :Q

guess nested tags don't work very well here....
What I meant to say to EA was:
isn't it great to see our votes NOT meaning a damn thing?

dude where in utah do you live? i went to salt lake city this past weekend and that place sucks! there is NOTHING to do there and its so boring! thank god the people from my company I went with were cool.
Just past Park City in a town called Heber. It's about 40 minutes from SLC. SLC's not too bad, you just have to know where to go![]()
there IS no where to go! we stayed at the marriot. we went out saturday night and sunday night, and each night the first place we went to had a cover, and before we paid for the cover we were told the places were havnig GAY NIGHT that night, by the cashiers, so we gladly left. then we went to another place and found out they stop serving alcohol at like 1, which is ridiculous!
we heard from a local that the place is 75% mormon. we figured the other 25% are homosexuals.
yeah, about the same for Rep vs Dem, too.
Which club did you go to? And the 1am law is state wide. Can't even purchase alcohol @ a store past 1.
well we went to club Naked the first night, thinking it might be a strip club or something, but later found out it was a gay bar that night. then we went to this place that looks like an old church or something, and in the lower area its 18 and older, and upstarirs its 21 and older.
the next night i forget the name of the first place we went, but it ended up being gay night there too. then we went to Pool Junkies, i think that was the name.
all in all its just a dead city as far as night life, which is what we were looking for at that time.
The church looking place is probably what used to be called "The Bay", but I think it's called something else now.
Shoulda hit Area 51 if you're into the dance club stuff.

If our country can ever get over racism, perhaps Barack Obama.... although I think he may be more likely for 2012 or 2016.
What you said was not a matter of opinion (Bush, in fact, was winning before the recount, which he didn't cause), it's a matter of fact and history. I can see where you are coming from if I were to challenging your opinions, but I wasn't. Yes, lets not let facts get in the way of a discussion.Originally posted by: NissanGurlThis is y threads like this are in P&N. No matter what you say there will be someone that will step up and say the exact opposite. If you want to dispute what the OP was about feel free. I'll let you have your opinion, that's the beauty of this country. This thread has taken a vicious turn since everyone is taking the election so personally. I believe in the country and the process, if not the people we choose to place in power. I'll stand behind a final result, but I'm not going to continue a pointless discussion.

People who ignore facts are the reason I don't go into P&N...
 for standing behind process/winner. I was fully prepared to do the same yesterday, when I though Kerry was going to win.

You were right on the recount in Florida. The state called for the recount. Out of curiosity, do you happen to know how close a vote must be for a state to call a recount? Also, if it is within this threshold is it manditory for a state to hold a recount or must officials within the state call for it? I only ask because I really don't want to wait for a recount if Ohio is close.

I think it varies by state, last night they said it was .025% in Ohio, and it wasn't that close. I don't think it's going to matter, there are too many votes for Bush to force an auto recount, and since Kerry conceded, he won't call for one.Originally posted by: NissanGurlYou were right on the recount in Florida. CNN is "funny", even at this hour, they still won't concede Ohio to Bush (Showing 254 to 252) - when it is apparent that it's mathematical impossible for Kerry to win the state.
I thought here in the States, the network would be free of political influences. Other network did the same, but CNN is the worst.
---
Then why are they calling any state? Every state has provisional ballots that could take a week to count. That argument doesn't hold water...Originally posted by: jdini76

So by conceding the state to Bush is NOT a political influence? I think they are not influenced by politics by NOT conceding the state untill all votes are tallied.
