I watched the press conference/intro.
I really like this guy. I'm behind him 100%. He seemed so giddy the whole time - I think he's genuinely thrilled to be here. Plus his recruiting connections in Texas should help. KY high schools don't seem to produce top level players.
-edit-
It was great - the AD pointed to all the banners in the stadium. "see those right there? You're here to get more. A lot more." Classic.
Haha, too bad he's not genuinely thrilled to be here. He was "genuinely thrilled" to be at UTEP. He was "genuinely thrilled" to be at Texas A&M. Guess what? He left both of those places after three years. What makes you think he is going to stay at Kentucky?
I felt the same as you did when I heard him at the Senior's Day game this year and on all the press conferences. He seemed like a great coach who really wanted to change Texas A&M basketball. He did.
His departure from Texas A&M was terrible. He text messaged the players and left voice messages for some of them. He even "promised" his recruits and players that he was staying at Texas A&M.
I still think he is one of the best basketball coaches and will continue to get better with better experience and better recruitment. But I do think he is deceptive and you can't trust him when it comes to potentially leaving for another coaching position.
