I don't mind participating but it's choking my poor box, can anyone recommend a specific torrent build or a utility to throttle this sucker back?
Not really. Only if there are very few seeds.Originally posted by: fatbaby
FAQ says you can h4x0r it but then your upload will be affected. Download speed is relevant to your upload.

set it up 56k
it'll upload at like 3-4kb and download at whatever speed you can handle or is available..
i use to upload like 3kb and download at like 60-70

Please read my post, it's a saturation issue. I've got other things to do with my connection as well.Originally posted by: BigPoppa
Jesus, if you're gonna participate in swarm type downloading, just leave the upload speed alone. Kazaa, fine. Bittorrent relies on everyone sharing to enable faster DLs.
Thanks for the replies, I'll give the burst a whirl!Originally posted by: dighn
try the "burst" bt client. i set the upload limit to 20kb/sec and it works.

I wish mine would do that. If I set it to that, mine DL speeds would drop to 3k MAX or even 0k. It's sad. So I leave it on at 10k on dsl/cable slow.

I solely use BT for downloading free anime fansubs, as do probably most of the posters here.
