That's not entirely true. If pot were legal, I might at some point in the future be tempted to try it, at least once, because I'm very curious about it. However, as it is currently illegal, and I don't want to be asked about it/tested for it in the future (for work-related reasons), there's no way I'm touching it right now, or any time soon.

Seriously? The only or even main reason you NEVER tried ANY drugs is because of illegality?

Sorry, but I gotta call bullshit on that.

BTW, your work can, will and SHOULD continue to test for it even if it is legalized. Just because an activity is legal is no reason why a private employer cannot choose not to employ people who do it.

Really? You're worried about a random drug test? Are you randomly tested now? Have you ever been randomly tested?

Do you also never exceed the speed limit because it's against the law?

Once you leave that driveway of your house, it's no longer a private/personal choice... Unless your driving on your own private roads...

I am not arguing against traffic laws. Only laws that protect you from yourself. No matter where that may be.

Using the "public places" argument is as lame as the cost to society argument.

My body remains my body even when I am driving on public roads. Example: I do not lose my Forth Amendment rights when I'm on the roads (though they have tried).

The governemnt has no right to tel me what I may, or may not do with my own body, or what risks I may take with it, so long as I am harming no one else. And yes, that applies even if I am using their public roads.

Thing about Amused is that he loves to build his little strawmen and beat them to death...

May as well talk to a wall.....

Wow...

Please show me what straw men I've thrown up.

Johnny boy here made a claim, I demanded valid proof of it, and he resorted to insults and attacks.

No straw man there. The funny thing is, this thread was about ALL victimless crimes/public welfare laws. But the leftists latched onto the seatbelt laws in a vain attempt to justify their own twisted brand of authoritarianism.

I wouldn't make that assumption. Abortion is such a divisive issue, across all ideologies, even libertarians.

What, in principle, is the difference between a trophy wife selling her body to rich husband for 25 years, and a hooker selling her body to a john for 30 minutes?

Oh wait, it's that sanctity of marriage thing. I almost forgot.
