KByte 512MB PC2700 SODIMM Free AC @ BB

I wouldn't worry about it. If it says its a pc2700 sodimm, then it should be the same as the kingston, regardless of the pic.

Did not work for me. The stores I went to have now taped signs to the front doors of the store stating that they will not honor those coupons without the purchase of a computer system.

When I did this yesterday, two stores initially wanted to charge the 29.00 installation fee. We pointed out that on the coupon it says memory AND installation, not memory WITH installation. Took a manager to make the decision, but worked at two stores.

Also, if they still refuse to give it to you, point out that installation is 14.50 in the flyer, and you want that price on installation. Still a great deal for 512MB of RAM for 14.50. It works great in my wife's 600m, I wish BB had some DDR2

Is that true for this week? I sprung for 512mb at the "install" price of $29 on Saturday.
Can I get a refund for the difference? ($14.50)

edit: WOOT! page 14 of the ad -- $14.50 baby! Looks like I'm going back to get another 512MB, as well as a refund.
Thanks for pointing it out, bearxor!

I agree - but why are the pic's different? they should both be 200pin SODIMM's - but the pin placements are not the same....... I guess one is just an older laptop mem pic or something or DDR2 vs. DDR vs. SDRAM or something along those lines?

just caught my eye...

Did the tech support people actually confirm that this can be used on memory cards? Whenever I try to pick one of those up, they always say that it's only for computer memory, and I have to backup to counter that. And also, is there a link to the $14.5 installation? Just in case. Thanx.

PS. Anyone in the New York area with success? If so, please tell me which store you did it at. Thanks.

Just came back from BB in Santa Rosa CA.

I grabbed the RAM + the seagate hard drive. I figured, if I could get the RAM free then I wouldn't bother with coming back and would just pay the extra $20 for the hard drive.

After lots of newbie cashiers stressed and fretted over it, my cashier (who definately seemed new) rang up my transaction. Although she did not remove the 29.99 installation, I didn't complain because she applied the same coupon towards both the RAM and the Seagate, I felt this was a good enough deal for me and left without having to deal with a manager (who might have just complicated things).

Overall, I feel I saved a good amount of money, I might have gotten it cheaper if I wanted to argue with a manager... but for all I know he might have been a dick and started complaining about my coupon or something. I'm enjoying my new hard drive, and looking forward to using my laptop in class tonight.

bastard!!!!:Q

teh lady did that with meh slushy😀

I went in with two copies of the coupon (gf w/me), picked up two sticks of RAM, went up to the register, rang up a stick of RAM (512MB DDR333 SODIMM) & install, and it came out free. Kinda sucks 'cuz we picked out movies to make up the extra $15 each (install was on sale for $15), but the coupon zeroed out the mem & install only. So we got two free sticks of RAM 😉

note for anyone who paid the $29 this week or last...

I paid the $29 install last saturday and went in today and price-matched to their current advertised $14.50 install price.
Left the store with $16.xx refund.

I got in on this deal today. The Kingston stuff was like $199.99 for 512, so I ended up getting the KByte stuff. Hey man, free is free.

Thanks a ton OP!!!

I finally got it today too, the young teenager looking person was really easy about it. He just went inside to check and he gave it to me for free, said that he was gonna try it too 😀. But when I tried to get a gig of SD Card, the coupon didn't ring up because it wasn't under computer accessories. How did some of you guys manage to get some memory cards?

It's not about it ringing up. Mine never really rang up correctly.

Memory can be defined very loosely. I think they just played on that.

I was able to do this with zero hassle. I'm actually typing on my laptop now with the extra 512MB stick in it.

When I got to Best Buy I realized I had forgotten the coupon at home! doh! So I phoned a friend and asked him to give me the coupon number. I asked the Geek Squad if they had a stick, they handed me one and I took it to the register. The clerk there I actually knew, we went to school together a few years back. After he rang up the RAM I asked if I could add a memory installation to my purchase, but only not have it installed right now. That was no problem and then I told him I forgot a coupon but I have the number for it, so he entered it into the computer and after a look of shock and a comment something like, "some coupon you got there," I was out the door with my new stick of RAM.

So do you have to talk them into overriding the prices manually or something to get the SD cards? I thought that if it didn't ring, it was no deal, and the sales person was really nice about it.

bishes at bb
i went in picked up the ram
went to the checkout and the bish at the front said that the coupon was not legit
and that the corporate office told him to say that to anyone who brought in the coupon
i didnt put up a stink about it and just left

I was shoot down today, they stated they had done some and had called corporate. They were told it was only when you bought a laptop. They offer the k-byte for 59 and half off the install price. I passed.

I work at BB and i got 2 so far and i have shown my managers and the only thing they said was Cool im going to get 1!!! lol
