How can they know if there isn't anything to find if they don't speak to key witnesses?
Key? In whose mind? The FBI have spoken to every relevant witness in the Kavanaugh case. Unless you think there is some grand FBI conspiracy to avoid the truth? If so it's tinfoil hat time.

They are just troublemakers who want to cause trouble.

Troublemakers always seek to stir up trouble, as can be seen from the words and actions of some witnesses that are trying to foment discord in the Senate after the Committee Chairman his caucus have successfully calmed the waters.

Interesting how when the FBI is investigating Trump you think there's a corrupt conspiracy inside of it that a special counsel should be appointed to investigate. When it's investigating other things the idea of an FBI conspiracy is tinfoil hat time.

You said you thought there should be a special counsel created to investigate the FBI that would lead to indictments. I also didn't say anything about a 'vast' conspiracy, you're making things up to appear like less of a hypocrite.

Doesn't the FBI realize they will be humiliated a few months later when the democratic congress investigates Kavanaugh and finds dozens of witnesses who say he is guilty. Do they care about their reputation?

At this point the FBI is basically a conservative tool for control of the government. It wouldn't surprise me if the next Democrat president entertains the idea of disbanding the whole institution and creating a new agency that isn't full of GOP hacks.

You mean a special counsel like Mueller to investigate improprieties? Yes, but nothing about conspiracies, that's for butt clowns like you.

This is great

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa) said that in his 38 years on the Senate, "an FBI report, as far as I know, has never been made public" and that it could hurt the FBI in future investigations if the report was made public.

Said by a member of the party who seeks to do far worse with their version of "the public has a right to know" insistence on the release of FBI documents

A perfect example of Trump Derangement Syndrome mixed with a tinfoil hat handicap.

and that guy trying to get on the Supreme Court. I see now why you favor appointing an idiot to the highest court in the land.

I'm really hoping that this guy gets on the court. It's looking like there is an easy out for democrats to impeach him later or at least force him to recuse on many different cases based on his "clinton conspiracy" pronouncements and the polls are showing that preventing his nomination could be a boon to republicans in november. Democrats should point out how ridiculous putting this rapist on the court is and let the GOP pay the price for retaining this idiot nominee.

It's not like whomever they replace him with will be any better. Might as well gain something from this whole fiasco instead of getting another conservative hack on the court (probably a more competent and credible one) while failing to gain the senate and possibly the house.

Given the NYT revelation of today, I'd say the chances of things going in his favor have increased. Republicans must now use every method to keep Trump in office as the moment he's out he's subject to state criminal prosecution and Grassley and Graham can GF themselves.

By the same token, who decided on the "relevant" witnesses?
IMO it's reasonable to include people who hung out with BK, classmates, etc., not all of whom have been able to speak to the FBI, despite trying to.

I find it EXTREMELY suspect that he "REALLY" likes beer but has never drank in excess, to the point of not remembering.

White House is controlling who the FBI talks to. Don't think after talking to witnesses there would be a need to circle back to the principles?

Also there are plenty of people who have information for the FBI who cannot reach them. Not enough agents on the case perhaps?

Also in many cases you aren't going to know if a witness is relevant until you talk to them.

Haven't the democrats known about this since June (when Ford came forward)? Why weren't these witnesses contacted well before the hearing so their testimony could have been used/heard last Friday?

Very interesting article-up to 40 potential witnesses have not been contacted by the FBI yet:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/poli...-kavanaugh-investigation/ar-BBNSkTl?ocid=spar
This includes Mark Krasberg, who lived in the suite where Kavanaugh dangled his dingle in Rameriez's face. Krasberg has tried to contact the FBI twice, in person and online, and has sought the aid of Senator Coons' and Senator Flake's office to get ahold of the FBI.

Rumors are the "investigation" is to be wrapped up today. Sounds like Trump has put the fix in on this one just like he wanted to do on his investigation.

Why weren't these witnesses contacted or even come forward before last Friday's hearing? It seems like that have been more prudent since the decision to conduct an investigation wasn't made until Friday afternoon.

Don't forget the GOP holds all the power in Washington at the moment. The legislative, judicial (not quite), and executive branches are all GOP-majority. You might want to ask them...

It could also be that the FBI simply dismisses these witnesses as out of scope. They were tasked to collect information as it relates to sexual assault, not whether or not Kavanaugh was a drunk frat boy @sshole.

It seems many are willing to corroborate the content of his character. That should be enough to disqualify him, but this process is so off the rails, who knows how it plays out at this point.

I'm almost inclined to agree. This could give Dems the House and Senate.

Then congress will need a fleet of moving trucks to haul all the subpoenas over to the white house.

Why would the democrats need to ask the GOP who they can talk to? Did they need to ask the GOP if they could talk to Ford's acquaintances (the ones who could not confirm her allegations). If these individuals would have come forward before Friday, their statements could have been considered in the hearing...

Not sure what is so hard to understand about that...

Considering Grassley is calling for a perjury investigation against Ford based on the say so of an ex boyfriend you don't think they should also be looking at the same thing as it relates to Kavanaugh?
