Kavanaugh will be on the court. This is actually a good thing because any ruling he makes can easily be thrown out later and he can be replaced through impeachment after all these allegations are borne out as true over time


Honestly I think it is better for him to be put on the court. It will piss off women all over the country and help turnout. He won't be on there for long. We need the senate more than we need "some other douchebag" put on the court in place of Kavanaugh.

At the moment this seems more likely than not. I think it's why Trump acceded to a more open FBI investigation knowing that Kavanaugh is already in the bag. It makes Trump look good without having to have his guy get shit canned.

If it's on the current october docket then he is too late to be read in on the case even if he is confirmed. At least that's how I understand it.

He will be asked to recuse himself on such a case anyway. There is precedent for justices doing that.

I also think it's likely that whatever judge they replace Kavanaugh with would do the same thing anyway. All his nominees are conservative hacks. Some are even worse than Kavanaugh, at least in terms of their stated views.

After the televised SC nominee's paranoid delusionist tirade claiming victimhood perpetrated by the Leftish powers, can you see him serving as anything other then a conservative lackey?

Only one Supreme Court Justice has ever been impeached was Samuel Chase in 1804, with the impeachment articles having been written by Thomas Jefferson himself, and the Senate ended up voting to acquit. Chase remained on the bench for remainder of his life.

No Supreme Court Justice has ever been removed from the bench once appointed, the only way it would even be considered is if actionable information came to light that would demand that legal charges to be brought against him. There is no way to prove the allegations of sexual assault to a level that would be needed to bring legal charges against him, so there is no way anyone is going to impeach a Supreme Court Justice for anything less.

I know, in the old Navy, before their culture of drinking was curbed, a "steamer" was a sailor that was pretty much a functioning alcoholic.

Samuel Chase was impeached because his rulings were unsatisfactory, not for any specific misconduct.

There has never been a proven rapist nominated to the supreme court yet. If they nominate Kavanaugh there are MANY avenues to impeachment and saying "they've never done it before" is not a good argument because we've never nominate such an unqualified criminal to such a high position before.

The misconduct that has lead (or will lead) to Kavanaughs elevation to the court is unprecedented and requires similarly unprecedented actions to rectify it.

Even Justice Kagan wouldn't recuse herself on legislation that she helped write for President Obutthole.
