Mitchell is doing her job and is known for her sympathetic soft touch with victims. She should not be cross examining Dr. Ford, that is not her job.

Dr. Ford is believable because she is undoubtedly the victim of sexual assault.

If Kavanaugh is unable to credibly create doubt that it was him, this is over.

He may have claimed he was already at the beach that night/that week, but I don't think Ford ever gave a definitive date for the gathering, so can't really fault Kavanaugh for mixing up the timeline.

It's clear she's telling the truth. The GOP's only "credible" defense was that she is a liar, which she is clearly not. Now what will their defense be?

I see this going one of two ways:

-The GOP goes forward with the vote and Kavanaugh gets the nomination, this creates a blue sharknado during the midterms and they lose a significant majority of their base (mostly women).
-The GOP withdraws the Kavanaugh nomination and try to ram through another before the midterms. Maybe not a sharknado, but certainly a tsunami and may keep some of their base. If they're smart, this is what they'll do.

No, because there has been ample prosecuted and documented evidence of systemic abuse in the church along with cover ups that trace back to the Vatican. There are patterns of behavior from credible accusers.

You’ll notice I’ve not questioned Dr. Ford’s account and felt it was important for her to testify. The Ramirez claim is questionable. The Avenatti client is irresponsible, which is why the Democrats have not exactly embraced him.

"The accusations brought against Judge Kavanaugh are sickening and deserve an independent investigation," Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker tweeted. "There should be no vote in the Senate."

Doubtful, Trump would take that as a loss and Trump hates losing more than anything else. He needs Kavanaugh to keep him from impeachment.
