Sasse yielded his time. Maybe Flake won't but I don't expect anybody else on the R side to not yield.

Irrelevant? Bullshit, the reason the Democrats haven't investigated the accusation is because the accusation itself is all they want, the facts might screw it up for them. That's why they sat on the information for so long and still haven't aided in any investigation.

Irrelevant. You made a claim that the Republicans were attempting to find out facts about this case. This is obviously untrue.

You lied and you got busted. Now you're trying to divert instead of owning it like an adult.

Wonder if the GOP calculated the risk of Mitchell believing Ford and, if she did, how that would color her questions to Kavanaugh.

Cause I'm starting to feel like she believes her. She has extensive experience with victims.

Screw off asshole. It's a perfectly valid observation that the Democrats have done nothing at all to investigate the claim and they've had 2 months to do it.

You poor thing! Your question has been asked & answered repeatedly in this very thread. It's blame shifting & obfuscation.

I loved the calendar. Party week, party this weekend, get "skis", party, weekend away, weekend away, party, get-together, weekend away. Really helped.

Wait a minute, I thought he once claimed that he wasn't even in town that summer? No time to party?

No, according to the Senate majority leader the senate staff has been investigating the alleged incidents since the Republicans found out about them. You are the liar here.

Mitchell is doing her job and is known for her sympathetic soft touch with victims. She should not be cross examining Dr. Ford, that is not her job.

Dr. Ford is believable because she is undoubtedly the victim of sexual assault.

If Kavanaugh is unable to credibly create doubt that it was him, this is over.

Who does Mitchell represent? Seriously, is she representing the Republican caucus, the committee as a whole, the chairman? Who is her client? The answer makes all the difference in how she should proceed.

If that is the case why have they not asked the federal government's premier investigative entity to help them? Why have they not called any of the other witnesses? The answer to this is obvious, it's that they don't want to know.

It's weird that you continue to lie about something even after it's shoved in your face. You're disturbingly comfortable with bald faced lies.

I'm sure they've been trying to dig up dirt on Ford in an effort to discredit her.

I'm comfortable with calling you a liar every time i catch you doing it. Which is pretty frequently in this forum.

He may have claimed he was already at the beach that night/that week, but I don't think Ford ever gave a definitive date for the gathering, so can't really fault Kavanaugh for mixing up the timeline.

It's clear she's telling the truth. The GOP's only "credible" defense was that she is a liar, which she is clearly not. Now what will their defense be?

I see this going one of two ways:

-The GOP goes forward with the vote and Kavanaugh gets the nomination, this creates a blue sharknado during the midterms and they lose a significant majority of their base (mostly women).
-The GOP withdraws the Kavanaugh nomination and try to ram through another before the midterms. Maybe not a sharknado, but certainly a tsunami and may keep some of their base. If they're smart, this is what they'll do.

They were investigating it so hard they forgot to get any sworn statement from the other person that Ford said was in the room during the assault.

Kavanaugh is going to destroy himself if this continues.

Unsolicited text from a GOP source: 'There's no way we can go forward with this nomination hearing this account. It's brutal.'

No, because there has been ample prosecuted and documented evidence of systemic abuse in the church along with cover ups that trace back to the Vatican. There are patterns of behavior from credible accusers.

You’ll notice I’ve not questioned Dr. Ford’s account and felt it was important for her to testify. The Ramirez claim is questionable. The Avenatti client is irresponsible, which is why the Democrats have not exactly embraced him.
Hard to see you up on that horse.

Starting to see how this might go. Popular GOP gov of Massachusetts, Charlie Baker, just made the following statement.

"The accusations brought against Judge Kavanaugh are sickening and deserve an independent investigation," Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker tweeted. "There should be no vote in the Senate."

Doubtful, Trump would take that as a loss and Trump hates losing more than anything else. He needs Kavanaugh to keep him from impeachment.
