Kari Byron, Tory Belleci, and Grant Imahara are leaving 'MythBusters'



At the end of last night’s episode of MythBusters, Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman announced that Kari Byron, Tory Belleci, and Grant Imahara were leaving the show. In the aftermath of the announcement, all involved took to Twitter to say their goodbyes; Byron also announced that the “show is taking a new direction.”
 
Are there still myths left to bust after however many years the show has been on?
 
Leaving or were fired due to possible contract dispute? The fact that adam and jaime announced it rather than them makes it a bit iffy.
 
My guess is the three of them decided to tie their contracts together (smart) then they listened to some agent about how they're worth 100 million each (not smart)

Probably no dispute, just let go to reduce costs. As shows age ratings generally decline and they need to find ways to make it cheaper to air. They could get a lot of what those three do done by interns and production assistants and have Jamie and Adam do the face time, so the show can continue in pretty much the same format without those three big salaries.
 
The show went downhill a long time ago. So much filler and recapping after every single commercial break, before which they always spoil the "coming up" part anyway. I used to really like the show, but it has sucked for a long time. That also sums up my opinions about Discovery as a whole.

Considering Discovery's new direction, I expect the new Mythbusters to be all about the existence of Megalodon, Bigfoot, and the Lochness Monster, and all episodes will end with using C4.

I don't even see it anymore. It used to play all the time on Discovery, but they're too busy catching bigfoot or finding gold to show Mythbusters anymore. I only saw it on the Science channel as of late, and even then it's been pretty rare. I would still be watching it if it was on, but I rarely see it.

Oh well, they were running out of stuff to do anyway.

More like having an overabundance of normal sex but none of them as smart as Kari, so she's like a ruby among a sea of diamonds.
 
I was never a terribly big fan of the build team segments. When they started making that a full time thing, with less focus on Adam and Jamie, that's when the show crossed into goofy reality territory. That was after Scottie left. Maybe she saw the writing on the wall back then.

The show jumped the shark when they started testing zombie and star wars myths. They have definately run out of legitimate myths.

Thank god. While Kari was nice to look at the other two had zero redeeming qualities and made the show unwatchable for me.
 
Funny how some seem to think that annoying and stupid bitches are hot. Nevermind, this is AT, let the dorkdom live on.

Show me without glasses... I've noticed lately that a few people look hot with glasses, but take glasses off, and "wtf?"
 
Most likely a cost-cutting measure on an older show. I sometimes found myself enjoying Grant, Kari and Tory's segments as much (and sometimes more than) Jamie and Adam's.

To be honest, the quality of the recent shows aren't nearly as good as older episodes. I guess all good things must come to an end.

Doesn't matter. She is one of the dumbest people on TV and her voice makes me want to club a baby seal.
