LOL, I love that line :D Reminds me of that chick from 40 Year Old Virgin :D

Is it just me or does the background track/sample in "Flashing Lights" and "Homecoming" sound like ring-entry music for a boxer entering a ring?

Whenever I hear the beats, I want to dance around a ring and throw my fists :D

haha, i thought the same thing except i hear it as a slowed down version of little mac training scene in mike tysons punch out or a song straight out of that game. link (go to :15 seconds in)

and since you mentioned boxing and its been awhile since chappelle has been quoted...

"we'll call it friday night sissy fights! on my right, the bath house brawler: sweet foot rogers! and to my left, the tyrannical teabagger: ricky blazer!"

Drunk and Hot Girls is hilarious. As soon as I saw the name, it struck me as funny-- because it emphasizes that the girls must be drunk AND hot.

My favorite:

I don?t wanna drop your friends off, I just want you
(You drunk and hot girl)
You wanna sit down but we hit the drive thru
(You drunk and hot girl)
Please don?t fall asleep baby we almost back
Please don?t go up in the car we almost crash
Oh now you so good, howd I know you'd say that
You drunk an hot girl

Now I know why I like Kanye so much. His lyrics/style and taste in music reflect my tastes. I just read this part of his interview in Rolling Stone and was nearly floored (underlined and bolded for my emphasis):

What albums do you listen to and not fast forward?

Sam's Town, by the Killers, Thom Yorke's Eraser is my shit. Keane's Under the Iron Sea. Modest Mouse's We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank. Those songs are stadium songs. I listen to everything on John Mayer's last album except for "Waiting on the World to Change." What the fuck was that?

Quoted for Motherfucking TRUTH!

He also explained his beef with MTV, which makes his rant more credible.

Kanye: "If I heard Graduation and it was made by somebody else, I would go to the bathroom and take a shit, because I would be scared."

He also explained his beef with MTV, which makes his rant more credible.

"Kanye was watching the closing performance [a medley featuring Justin Timberlake, Timbaland and Nelly Furtado] on a closed-circuit monitor, and he started getting upset," a source who was backstage told MTV News. "He started asking anyone who'd listen why he wasn't allowed to perform on the main stage. 'Why did I perform in just a suite?' he was saying. 'Justin's my boy, but even he gets to perform in both a suite and on the main stage? Something's wrong here.' "

According to a story filed by The Associated Press, West was also upset about being shut out of all five categories he was nominated in (see "MTV VMA Race Is On: Justin Timberlake, Beyonce Lead Nominations"). He reportedly yelled, "That's two years in a row, man ... I'm trying hard, man, I have the ... #1 record, man."

AP also reported that West claimed he would "never return to MTV."

At a pre-VMA concert on Friday, West also expressed his frustration that Britney Spears would be opening the show instead of him, freestyling, "I can't believe she would perform. She hasn't had a hit record in years" (see "Kanye West Tells Crowd At Pre-VMA Concert That He Should Open Big Show, Not Brit"). And according to MTV News' source, he was claiming the same thing during his tirade.

"He said, 'Brit hasn't had a hit in like 5 million years and she opens the show?!?' " the source said.

I didn't watch those awards, but I'm gonna side with him. Why did Britney Spears open (and suck)?

I just got back from Best Buy with Graduation... the first CD I've bought in a long time. I wanted to buy Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor, but they didn't have ANY Lupe (WTF??)..

Almost everyone heading to the register had the album. Most of them were black professional looking guys. I didn't see a single person buying 50's.

after hearing his side of the story, I'm starting to see why he was so upset.

Not that I would watch the VMAs anyways, but I'd more likely tune in to a Kanye performance over a washed up Britney Spears. Can't wait to find out if Kanye or 50 sell more this week.

Flashing lights, homecoming, stronger, and champion are good tracks on Graduation.

Graduation just keeps getting better and better the more I hear it. Rolling Stone sums it up the best (they gave it 4.5 out of 5 stars vs 3.5 for 50 Cent):

"This is an album that at first you like, then love"

early predictions have kanye on pace to sell 700,000 this first week. curtis around 500,000. and also kenny chesney's album is up there, so its predicted 50 will finish out the week in 3rd.

it's alright...bordering on meh.

Previous two albums were better. seems half assed and lightweight.

It's supposed to be lightweight, but it is in no way "half assed." I love "Late Registration" but it was LONG and the stupid skits should have been dropped (Kanye admits to both of these in RS).

I personally would have cut at least three songs from Late Registration in addition to the skits:

"Bring Me Down"
"Gone"
"Diamonds From Sierra Leone (Reprise)"

I'll probably listen to it more after m.i.a's new one.
I say half-assed in the sense that the other albums were much more ambitious.

Heh, "Gone" was one of my favorite songs on the album. But it was also a little bit too long as well (quiet part at the end was long).

Really starting to grow on me. At first I only liked 3 or 4 tracks, now I'm starting to like most of the album, so rare these days.

Here's to 50 cent never making an album again.

I bought both albums. The cashier said most people that came had bought both albums. only handful either got 50 or kanye only.

Having listened to 50 cd once through.....its solid. every track with the exception of 1 probably are huge. It is much better than massacre in terms of production and content. He went out of his normal circle of producers and it works so much better..... I haven't listened to it enough to draw anymore conclusions.

Kanye cd..half way through and I also like every track. The cds in my opinion cannot be compared its like 2 totally different genres almost.

Apples vs. oranges - I enjoy both equally it just depends what kind of mood i'm in.

I think the local radio summed it up best.......kanye is more an introspective hip hop cd and 50 cent is more of a hyped up I wanna get pumped to go out on the town etc.....
