Tim Pool has always been a bit nutty, but everything I've seen lately is... I mean, is he having a mental break? He's into the realm of self-parody now.

The obvious huge problem with people noticing climate change affecting them personally is by then it's too late to do much about it.

This country has become both anti-intellectual and crazy with all the conspiracy thinking. Can't trust actual scientists with education in the fucking field of climatology who have been saying for decades there's going to be a problem.
Al Gore had it right: An Inconvenient Truth. Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death.

The big problem is how some media outlets portray consensus, particularly with "political" issues. Their insane desire for balance has led to plenty of stories where you have 1-2 experts and 1 crank, so the general public sees controversy where there is largely no scientific controversy.
Yeah, to grab attention and $$$, Media will portray that 98-2 as 50/50 and it'll be up to the voters to decide the truth.

Yeah unlike squishy and some others, I'm not convinced Kam can do it. Just remember Obama and the polls saying he was going to win by 14 points.. he won by 7. Hillary and the polls saying she was winning by 5, she lost by 2. Biden and the polls saying he was winning by 10, he won by 4.

The polls are rigged for dem overconfidence.. be very very cautious!
also I'm not convinced that a lot of independents (and maybe even a lot of dems) are ready to vote for a minority person as the first woman president. Just my .02 as a POC in this country.

You know I was generally in this camp too before but I think I was wrong. Helps that she's going up against a 3rd time candidate who a majority of Americans dislike and a lot of them quite strongly.

Why is this about the person, and not the party, or the policy?

A President Harris would represent Democrat policies staying in the White House. Having a chance to work with a potential Democrat Congress.
A good campaign will sell the election to the voters via policy that will benefit them. A good campaign will drive people to the polls for the THINGS that they want.

Hoping you are wrong on this one. Looking at the timeline on countries approval of marriage equality, those times have sped up. Big difference here is the rights being taken away from women.

Quick story, back in 2008 I was dating a French Canadian who didn't have much experience in US politics. I was convinced this country was not ready for a black man as POTUS and would nominate Hillary. She said there is no way the country would vote for a woman. She was right and that was reconfirmed in 2016.

No idea who Tim Pool is, did he create that....art? I know Ben Garrison has some kinda similar stuff.

Trump in golden armor as some kind of King Arthur figure, golden hair rippling in the wind---Trump, the dude who didn't go to Nam because his heel problem--holding a fricking giant rabbit....ok, maybe Trump is a smaller-than-life version and that rabbit is regular-sized?

It's parody whether intended or not, because it's just beyond goofy. Then again, so is all the barf-worthy shit I've seen on FB where people post pics of Jesus putting a hand on Trump's shoulder to guide him and the like.

and I love how these artists make Trump out to be some self-sacrificing benevolent father figure who will protect and nurture us. WT actual F....dude has never had a partner he didn't screw over or sue. He cares about exactly one person on this earth. Even his family I wager he mainly just cares about how he's perceived based on them, not that his family is any business or concern of mine if they stay out of politics.

I know it's an uphill climb but I thought Obama didn't have a chance in hell because of his race but I was obviously wrong.

hopefully you are right. But people always feel the most comfortable with someone of their tribe, whatever tribe that may be.

No idea if he made it or not, if so it was probably AI, he's not known as an artist AFAIK. He's sort of like Ben Shapiro or Matt Walsh, but more "chronically online" and more insecure. I don't specifically follow him but his shit takes on everything tend to crop up in various places.

She still hasn't put out policy and she has to thread the needle of not pissing off the anti-trumpers.

There's a shit ton of people who like the Trump white guy on top agenda but don't want Trump specifically.

I mean it's a given right now Biden or Kamala would get more votes than Trump but she has to tailor her message in a way that the EC allows her to get to 270.

She has made some policy statements - she will not try to ban fracking nor implement Medicare for All.

I do hope she comes out in favor of a public option though.
