Also add the Gaza and Ukraine conflicts, both of which are taking up resources and make people apprehensive that they might expand into wider conflict. I also think the Gaza conflict hurt Harris because a lot of Dems in the liberal wing supported Palestine, or at least disliked our strong support of Israel.
Inflation, I agree, definitely an issue. It was especially bad because from the late Obama presidency until covid hit, we were in an unprecedented period of growing real wages, low unemployment, lack of any major international conflict, and low interest rates. I dont hold Biden completely blameless. The stimulus packages passed by both him and Trump were needed, but obviously (in hindsight), pumping trillions of dollars into an economy that was shut down to a large extent was going to lead to inflation. The only thing I blame Biden and the Dems for is claiming inflation was a temporary problem when it obviously was not, and waiting too long to raise interest rates. And yes, I know the president does not set monetary policy directly, but he does appoint the chairman of the Federal Reserve, so one would assume he has considerable influence in setting policy. The old trick of the party out of power saying "Are you better off than 4 years ago" was very effective. Unfortunately nobody asked the real question "Would Trump have done any better?" Impossible to say, but most probably not.

FYI, real wages are much higher under Biden.

People sharing memes of eggs that were expensive three years ago is gonna get us Secretary of the Interior Ted Nugent.

I'm getting sick of people saying Harris lost because democrats were too mean to stupid people, the aftermath of the election with people realizing trump's plans are going to hurt them shows people really are that stupid. It all feels like bush getting elected a second time, I couldn't believe how collectively stupid this country was back then and it seems we've just gotten worse.
West VA is one of the poorest and illiterate states in the country yet they keep voting red. Think that's is a policy dispute?

Buggy as fuck and so full of bots/nazis that all the people who actually post there are headed to Bluesky like they are trying to catch the last helicopter out of Saigon in 1975.
Quick Chrome search on Bluesky:

Why are people going to Bluesky?

People are going to Bluesky to escape the misinformation, hate speech and right-wing extremism that have intensified under Elon Musk's ownership of X and his recent alliance with Donald Trump. Bluesky's moderation and customizable user experience offer a “refuge” for those seeking a more civil environment.2 hours ago

Biden keeping things respectful unlike the other guy.

Trump Meets With Biden at White House After Fraught Election
Biden keeping things respectful is just more of the same. To normalize Trump and MAGA To not hold them accountable. To pretend Jan 6th never happened.

Biden being soft kept Trump out of prison, now back in the White House.
Biden being soft keeps the Genocide in Europe going. Signaling nuclear proliferation is the ONLY path to living.

A rather stark pattern here. Biden was not the man for the job. Unable to comprehend the consequences of inaction. Now we live with them.

See, I just don't agree with continuing to give up ground to the GOP in these spaces. Bluesky will never be as big as X, why are liberals just giving up on these spaces and then they complain that their message doesn't reach people?? Bluesky is a safe echo chamber, that's it.

I can't comment on Bluesky, but Threads has a large user base now. Pick your oligarch poison, I guess.

Because people hate the owner and don’t want to have a thing to do with him?

A social media network is useless if it is overrun with bots and trolls and doesn't facilitate discussion.

Networks are not irreplaceable: history is littered with social media sites that got big and fell to the wayside.

Because Musk can personally tweak the algorithm on X. Anything that gets traction from the left will just get banned/suppressed. How you going to stop that?

That's fine everyone is free to make a choice. But it's conceding the space IMO.

I get that, see me and others with Russian trolls, but in the case of X, I can't blame people for not wanting to help fund the place.

No one likes to let the enemy take territory, but if all that territory contains is a disease riddled cesspool, is it really a loss?

It's the most vital resource - the information sphere.

So yeah, kinda important.

Since the moderation is firmly in favor of racists, sexists, etc, decent people don't want to be there. I'm also of the understanding that, despite promises to the contrary, there's still a significant bot issue.

The other thing with cutting taxes or cutting waste in the govt is that it effectively sets up a poison pill for Democrats in 2028.

What are the Dems going to campaign on? Raising taxes and increasing the size of govt again? It's not a winning message.

Not sure if Musk/Trump were smart enough to realize this but it's a huge advantage.

Who the hell is running the DNC? Are they still planning on blaming Latino voters until 2028 or do they even have a thought beyond that?

Bannon was right - if the GOP can secure even slightly more Black/Latino voters...it's GG for 50 years

So mean comments and bots are enough to flee the most important information/narrative source that currently exists?

Yeah we've lost.

What if it's part of state media?

You think the govt will let X fail?
I think you're missing a big reason people use social media: it's the interaction. Twitter has been completely failing in that core function since Musk screwed the algorithm, decided to promote blue checks, and let bots run wild.

Info is important. Propaganda, conspiracy dreck and outright hate much less so.

Avoiding the sewer that is X is not leaving the information sphere, kind of like how choosing a different table to eat your sandwich at isn't skipping lunch.

Lost what, exactly? I can't believe you're becoming even more tedious with your doomerism.
