This isn’t great. Trump has somehow gained ground. Maybe some people liked his playlist while he absconded from actually answering questions?

I’m running out of words in the dictionary and thesaurus to describe this situation.

Everyone keeps saying it's just me.. it's only in my head.. but those 2 issues (Gaza & Immigration) are causing solid dem voters to cross over..

Gen Z is our last hope and they don't poll well. So while I do believe the polls where Trump is gaining likely voters.. the unlikely voters are going to decide this!

Lets hope they break in a big enough way for Harris!

Non of if is the fault of social media, the news, or the internet. Blaming such vehicles of information and communication is a copout, only so one can deny the real cause, which is the people, us, we are to blame.. We have allowed us to get to this point thru our actions, or rather inaction. We have chosen to accept our bad behaviors as normal and no longer hold people accountable for such bad behavior. We tend to turn a blind eye, and nobody, not you or me is innocent.
Journalism died and was replaced by propaganda.

Modern communication has consolidated control and reach of a few platforms drum beating the same toxic and hate filled messages. With reach that no one could have dreamed of in previous decades. Of course we have done it to ourselves. It makes use of our base instincts and bypasses the safeguards we had throughout the 20th century. There are no longer any isolated or distant pockets of people to act as immune cells. The toxicity of our tribal nature has seeped into and broken every aspect of our society, none are safe from its influence.

Example, MAGA hollowed out and replaced Republicans in record time. That never could have happened like this in prior generations. The Bushes could have put up a much larger fight without social media spreading the MAGA virus like wildifre. Burning away anyone who wanted to uphold Compassionate Conservatism. A misnomer for sure, but they were far kinder and gentler than what has replaced them.

As for innocence. I wonder if you are alluding to some fabled notion of honest, non partisan neutrality. Of working to keep the peace through justice. There may be a time and a place for such notions, but 2024 is not it. I spoke to calm the rage filled hatred espoused by the Left after Trump's inauguration. For maybe two years. At every turn I had underestimated the depths of his, and MAGA's depravity. Eventually by Nov 2019, I reached my limit. The Left was correct to hate Trump and to hate his MAGA voters. For various reasons, not the least of all his "perfect" criminal phone call to blackmail Ukraine into making up fake dirt on Joe Biden. One by one, all Republicans rallied around the literal criminal acts.

They refused to impeach for publicly blackmailing another nation into election interference. Following that, and the election denial of 2020 leading to Jan 6th. The inevitability of where we go from here was apparent. Innocence is for those who do not earnestly believe that, in due time, we'll be bathing in the blood of our countrymen. America is beyond neutrality at this point. No election is going to change MAGA's insistence that there are no elections. We host something violently dangerous, a cancer that grows by the day, whose only purpose is to consume us. Innocence checked out a long time ago. We fight for keeps now.

It’s the Electoral College, Democrats need to win by 3 to 5% to actually win the White House. The system is rigged.

Listen to this guy folks. It's not just enough to vote, but YOU BETTER GET OTHER PEOPLE TO VOTE TOO! Seriously. No joke. Make a phone call. Talk to someone. Send texts. Talk on social media. Wherever you can connect with people you know might do the right thing. Less than three weeks folks!

The polling has suggested a very tight race for quite some time. Very little has changed. Both sides are flying in the dark.

So you are ignoring what I said, along with history. Got it! What you claim the Bushes could have done, isn't in their character.. and it only proves that information travels faster via social media, but doesn't make it the cause. what does tell you about your argument? Answer: it shows the problem isn't what you claim. I bet you also blame Video games for the violance in this country.

As for your twitter post, are you claiming transparancy is the issue now? That the American people knowing what is happening and said on such calls is bad? You might as well blame video cameras, phones (cell phones and regular land lines), hell all forms of communication..

Even in your response above, you give examples what lead to different events.. and NON of them where related to social media.. Again, what does that tell you? (hint: social media isn't the problem).

I would ignore polling at this point and look at early voting numbers, which are generally very favorable to Democrats so far.

How would you feel about having a daughter and supporting a rapist. Would you think they should vote for a Devil Democrat instead or just pretend that all reports of the one anointed by god to defeat the Devil are all just fabricated lies. Isn’t saving humanity from evil more important than letting evil win just because of something you can rationalize away as lies

@QueBert it is perplexing indeed who will vote against their own interests, but there is no shortage of knuckleheads.
If it wasn't for rubes voting against their own interests, the GQP would win about as many elections as the Libertarian Party does.

Look at these forums, there are people who seem to support hamas and I agree it’s a complicated issue however one has to acknowledge hamas started the conflict and if we were in their territory they would likely jail us or throw some of us off a roof.
I'm not paying close attn, but can you name a forum poster who supports Hamas? Link to an example post please.

As of right now who started the conflict?
I'm no historian, but in the 20th century, I think a lot of people would point to the Nakba. For the record, I'm slightly more pro- Israel (the country, not its current leadership or Zionists) than I am for Palestine but I recognize both peoples have a basic right to live peacefully. So what's happened in Gaza, and now in southern Lebanon, is a catastrophe. Even if you mark Oct 7th as a casus belli, no decent human beings can condone what the IDF has done in the past 12 months.

This is very encouraging about Georgia - I simply don't think Republican racist sexist turnout can beat the Dem turnout because now they are voting FOR a candidate rather than not being inspired anymore by Biden's candidacy.

If you guys and gals will allow me a minute to be vulnerable here for a moment..

I think that can be offset by the people that would love a hot MILF Potus.. she's only like a million times hotter than Hildabeast!

Even the corn stars are saying it.. "Don't underestimate MILFs":

FFS MILF is #1 on searches for what 2 decades now??

Exactly and that’s why I try my best to stay out of this issue.
If this is you trying your best to stay out of the issue, then you fail miserably.
You took my quote about people voting against their best interests, an answer to somebody being perplexed about the LGBT supporters of Trump.
Then you took it clear the fuck off topic about a post about Hamas.
What exactly did my quote have to do with Hamas?
Not a thing.
The thread is about Harris and Trump. Do keep up.

People vote for the person they think will serve their best interest. What percent of the population would you imagine knows what is in their best interest compared to how many just vote for what satisfies their ego? Do you think it might be more than two percent?

You know...... Texas Republicans actually would not mind if Dallas - Fort Worth Metroplex became its own state. That too is feasible, considering the Metroplex's northern border shares the state border with Oklahoma. Only thing needed is for Collin and Grayson county to turn blue.
Cut the deary bullshit. Its getting really fucking old. Don't you get tired of talking in this manner?
I sure would
Go in the corner and sit in despair, negative nancy.
To be honest, I think "negative Newt Gingrich" would be more accurate. After all, he was the first one who screamed that Democrats were destroying the country before even Trump repeated those claims. Why "negative Nancy [Pelosi]"?

Take a look over at the average of aggregated polls that include the third party candidates in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. She is leading above 1% in those polls. To be honest, I think the cause of why the two party polls are so close is because of noise from those that will vote third party, to support one of the two candidates in the polls.

Amol, I am calling gotnoeggs a negative Nancy
Wouldn't make sense to call him a negative newt Gingrich.

A negative Nancy is a term for being a pessimistic person, that's been around for decades.
