K8N Neo 2 Platinum and an XP-120

Hello!
After scouring the net for information on new motherboards and what to buy and all the stuff thats new and out on the market, I found this place.
You people rock! Period!
I saw a recent question and the person could not provide pictures to the heatsink and how it fit on the K8N Neo 2 motherboard. Well after reading post upon post here I decided to buy a K8N and a Athlon 64 3500+.
due to my budget, and figured I hopefully can help in a small way for all the people that have posted and helped me.

Thermalright says their XP-120 heatsink will not fit this motherboard, but it actually does.
There is only one cap that comes close and it is almost touching it, but it is still not touching it.

I had to remove the stock plastic square around the cpu and replace it with the one that comes with the XP-120. Simple... 2 screws.
Replace it and the clip the heatsink down with a screwdrive and a set of pliers.

Hope this helps!

Peace!

Damn that thing is big!! Does that thing have a fan??? hat kind of temps are you getting at diff speeds and diff vcores???

Yes it does have a fan. A Panaflo 120MM ~35db fan. About 2200 rpm.

LOL I just got the mobo in today and figured before I tear down my current machine which is functional only about 20% of the time.....damn tweaky mobo..... I could take some pics and slap together a site so people can look at it if they are interested in an XP-120 and an NEO2, since Thermalright says the 2 do not go together....

Also, I am new to overclocking and I am leery about pushing my cpu beyond stock settings....yeah yeah I know. The manufacturers underrate cpu speeds...but this has to last me a while since I am on a tight budget as of late. So I will give you temps as soon as I get all this together.

BTW HAPPY NEW YEAR! lol
