you found out that "she" was a guy? 😉

L&S is one of the WORST childrens' movies ever made, period. It shows young, easily impressionable children the WRONG way to act with friends, teachers and last but certainly not least parents or authority figures.

Putting aside the freaky rat-from-space Stitch (the concept is way cool), the little girl is a case study in every anti-social, no respect for authority, no concept of sharing or group play behaivior that you DON'T want your own children displaying.

15 minutes into this movie, I was so horrified and angry that I would've grabbed my then 6-year-old son and left, had I not paid $20 to get in and another $20 for popcorn and two sodas.

This movie stinks. ZERO on a 1-10 scale.

I liked Monsters INC and Ice Age (< one of the funniest intros to a movie ever!). But Lilo and Stitch wasn't all that good.

Ya know, I've been secretly waiting on a L&S thread to pop up in the hopes that you'd provide some insight to that line in your sig...

Personally, I thought it was a really good movie, although I haven't seen monsters inc yet, so i can't compare the two.

I liked Lilo & Stitch a lot. I like the fact that none of the main characters were perfect, with all of their problems thrust upon them by outside sources. They had problems that stemmed from their own behaviour and habits, and dealt with them throughout. I laughed a lot while watching it, and yes, it was a cute movie.

Monsters Inc. was an awesome movie. I bought that movie for ME as well as for my kid. L&S shows a bratty, selfish child that doesn't listen to her sister at all. Ruins every attempt her sister makes at trying to earn a living. Hits other kids, doesn't share, doesn't respect her teacher...you name it, this kid is bad news!

Of course, they would never make a scene in that movie of her older sister breaking a switch off one of those palm trees and beating that little brat senseless, now would they? Nooooo, that's not P.C., you know...but letting children run wild, well, isn't that what is happening these days?

This movie is horrible!

Even though I don't have kids yet, I hear where you're coming from MichaelD. I couldn't help but notice that too when I was watching the first few minutes of the show. Obviously the whole 'dysfunctional' or 'broken' family thing was supposed to be a major theme in the movie. And while the little girl's voice acting was cute I couldn't help but think how much her actions reminded of the 'wild' children my wife has to teach every day because the parents (or in this case parental figure) had absolutely no authority.

That being said, I still enjoyed the movie, but I don't think it was anywhere close to the Disney classics of the early 90s or any of the Pixar films. I think twenty years from now it will be one of those films like 'The Sword in the Stone' that people forget to list when going through all the Disney films they remember watching.

I have to say it might not be good for children. I can understand you MichaelD but I found it very entertaining. But then, I watched Simpsons when I was kinda small and didn't understand the social critics, that the Simpsons made, I found it funny that Bart always was a "bad" boy, but didn't really understand the whole "concept" behind the Simpsons. (this sentence sounds kinda weird but I don't know how to word it better) The same is with L&S I think. They do have this "family" thing though and the kids might comprehend that it's hard, being without a mother or a father.

I love the Simpsons. 😎 Nothing wrong w/it in my book, since the show covers a wide range of topics. Granted, The Simpsons is mainly for adults, but there's nothing wrong w/the show. 🙂
