I have made it my Christmas tradition to watch A Christmas Story as much as I can - or until the wife threatens me if I don't turn it.

I honestly just do not like this film.. I've tried and tried to watch it. I've probably seen it 20+ times and I just don't enjoy it. People tell me something is wrong with me 🙁

lack of soul?

Unhappy Childhood?

General contempt for humankind?

stop me when I'm getting warm...

😛

🙁

Never seen it.

Dude, you are old as dirt; how could you have not seen A Christmas Story?

I'm Canadian.

😕 I'm Canadian and I've seen this movie at least twice during the Christmas season, every year since I was 10 (I'm now 25).

Ralphie's Mom: "Here's your trough. Show Mommy how the piggies eat!"
Randy: "Oink, oink *snoooooooort* hahahaha"

Watched it for the first time yesterday. Thought it was "meh". Christmas Vacation and It's a Wonderful Life are far better movies in my opinion.

I love how the mom is cracking up when he puts the lamp shade back on --- my mom and I were just cracking up at that

come on cry baby cry for me! ...*BITCH SLAP!*

"Fra-gee-lay.... Hmm must be Italian"

^ That might be the best line in the movie. There are so many good ones though, it is hard to give a definitive answer.

I honestly can't watch it any more this year. My relatives are so obsessed with it, that they had the DVD playing nearly 48 straight hours starting on Thanksgiving. I love the movie, don't get me wrong, but there was very big Football games to be watched. I'm Christmas Storied out for this year 🙁 (But I still love quoting it 🙂 )

If he waited for the glue to cure it probably would've been ok. Of course in the late 40's it was probably casein based which is not very effective for thin materials under a somewhat compressive load.
