I never did finish it the first time around.

By the way, get the custom OpenGL driver for this and run it with that if you aren't already. It runs far better that way.
I enjoyed the sequel more than the original.
It was tighter with more action, better weapons and more varied levels.
Where to get? Also, does this game use it's own engine or is it the UT engine or other?
Most of the mods I've seen for enhanced graphics are very unstable. That could be a problem unless you quicksave every two minutes.Originally posted by: SpeedZealot369
Hey guys. I jsut started playing the first deus ex, is there any way to make it look better? It maxes out a 1280x720 for me. Also are there any mods like oblivion has? to make the textures better and stuff? Alot of the textures are just *ick* I'm sure they were good at their time though. -SZ

Actually, it works fine. The interface elements look large and blocky since they use the 640x480 sizes, but there are no problems otherwise. I always play the game at 2048x1536 in fact.
The textures actually look pretty good as long as you have detail textures enabled and the detail level set to 2 in the ini. Unlike the ones in most modern games, they don't get blurry when you see them close up.
On a side note, speaking of Deus Ex, here is something I made a few months ago.![]()

If you get the latest official patch for Deus Ex, you can actually run the game at high res like you can Unreal Tournament.
Get it here. Sorry, I know many of you will hate fileplanet but ... well this is what you'll have to deal with for the moment unless someone can find it elsewhere. Yes, it is worth it.

As for Deus Ex Invisible War, I am enjoying it. Have only played some of it, and only now since I have a system upgrade can I really run it in a beatiful way. Obviously it looks better than the original game, but much of it has a smoother more refined feel with a very sci-fi atmosphere. I feel I'd choose it over Call of Duty 2 at the moment, which I'm playing as well.
It is a graphics hog. I have a 2.6GHz dual core AMD and a x1900xt and I can't max AA or AF on it, considering it's a 2003 game. Assign it to a single core if you have dual core as well, since it gets jittery eventually. If you don't know how to set to a single core(affinity), google for it and you will in a few seconds.
Many complain it sucks, but I've played sucky games and it is certainly not sucky so far.
