What a terrible movie. I know it didnt help that i just saw the best superhero movie of all time, but i decided to give it a shot.

First off - they JUST did a spiderman, and if your gonna re-do it, then do it right. (kind of like the new batman movies?)

I didnt give a shit about one character. The bad guy sucked. Story was awful. Reveals who he is right away. blah blah blah. I was actually laughing hysterically towards the end at how bad it was. Almost peed my pants. Emma stone is pretty hot, but thats about it.

Being generous, this movie is just a generic crappy superhero movie. I honestly felt like i could have written a better spiderman movie. Jesus christ it was bad.

Yea, the only thing better is that Emma Stone is actually hot. Mary Jane is supposed to be drop dead in all the lore and then they cast Kirsten Dunst? One of the worst casts in all of comic-book moviedom.

It was better than Batman.

i hate you.

On a serious note, what kind of idiot critics could give batman anything less than a postive review?

http://www.metacritic.com/movie/the-dark-knight-rises/critic-reviews

Im looking at you Rex reed, jr jones, nick pinkerton, dana stevens, mick lasalle. peter rainer etc. I wish there was an "ignore" button, so when i look at metacritic, i dont see reviews by these idiots.

Hey rex reed, batman gets a 20, but REAL STEEL gets a 75. You sir are a moron.

Because it was boring for the first 90 minutes and is supremely overrated along with all of Nolan's films?

God forbid someone has a different opinion than the sheeple

out of your mind. How is bane coming in, and whooping ass, taking the entire city hostage boring? This movie was the most action packed of all of them.

You can argue the first batman was boring, but it provided enough story for the next two movies to build off of.

I can make any argument that I want because my opinion is my own. The first batman movie was boring as fuck, not even a good movie. I tried rewatching it thinking it was my state of mind, nope. I liked the second one, a lot in fact - but it was still highly overrated. I liked this one as well, but its hardly as good as some people make it out to be - and frankly, I was bored throughout the movie. Definitely not the entire first 90 mins but most of it.

Also. I liked Real Steel. That movie was awesome and original

whats your favorite superhero movie? IMO the only way you couldnt like this is if you dont like superhero movies in general. What did you think of inception?

I don't really have a favorite anything so its not really easy for me to answer that.

Thats really hard because most of them are Sooooo Overrated that I think the hipster side of me wants to hate them :p

Seriously though, its probably X-men first class as it was much better than every other xman movie before it - which isn't saying much. Especially Wolverine and a few others that were down right bad films. Also the second batman is high on the list, the last of Nolan's films before this one I mean

And inception was .... OK, I liked it OK but again - highly overrated. And honestly, I have no desire to ever watch the movie again which is how I rate movies a lot of times. Will I enjoy it again in a few years when I watch it again? Inception was a no as I did watch a bit of it on HBO one Saturday and changed the channel

EDIT: I should further clarify, I do like superhero movies OK. I just think most of all of them are highly overrated. I just see this sheeple mentality where everytime a new one comes it, its the new best film of all time. No super hero movie would make my top 10 list, even though it would be supremely difficult for me to draw up a top 10 movies list. So ... maybe you're right, and I'm just sick of the superhero movie phenomenon. I enjoy the movies fine - but the drama over it in the media and everyone gushing over one everytime a new one comes out. Its not THAT GOOD PEOPLE!!

You probably don't just like that style of movie/directing then, which is fair enough. Not expecting everyone to like everything.

What was the best superhero movie of all time? My vote goes to the avengers.

Batman is not a "superhero". He's an ordinary guy with toys but has no super powers.

If the viewer just wants to turn their brain off for 2 hours and watch a movie and eat popcorn, I can easily see how every Nolan film would suck and end up 30 minutes too long.

@AMDzen: what movie isn't overrated? which movies do you even like? (if any)

I've never seen anything like the overrating of these Batman movies so these are far and away the most overrated movies of all time, IMO. I can't think of anything that even compares, accept maybe Star Wars which was just so bad, when fans were expecting so much. Nothing will ever match the kind of hype those movies had.

I'm actually a movie nerd and watch tons of movies. Like I said, this movie was good - maybe even very good but its not nearly as good (IMO of course) as nearly everyone else thinks it is. Which is why I like it when some people try and take it down a notch, at least not everyone loved it.

Movies I've seen recently I really liked = God Bless America. Very funny and something I would love to do. Get the beloved patriot was good, people hate Mel Gibson - I'm not one of those people. In fact one of his movies would make my top list, even top 3-4 movies of all time. Avengers was pretty good, still a little overrated but nothing like this Batman movie that is even more overrated than the second movie. I like the second movie better than this last one. Nothing will ever top Heath as the Joker in any comic book movie, ever.

Oh yea, the first Iron Man ranks as one of my favorite comic book movies of all time. Hilarious and all around well done.

I changed the ones bolded above to ratings that I would give these movies. I actually agree with a lot of them you gave

That's a fair point. I see a constant complaint against movies that are longer than 90-110 minute range. If I like a film, and there is actual content on the screen that I find interesting/compelling, I don't mind a long movie at all. I'd hate to see what some of these youngsters would think of classics like Lawrence of Arabia and The Godfather I and II! There's an absolute ton of relative atmospheric dead space in those films, which serves a purpose imho, but whatever :D

I guess a bad Nolan film is still pretty good to you? lol

I hated godfather, I'm sorry :(

Equally atrocious for me was Gone With The Wind. 4 hours of crap. However I loved Gettysburg (another 4 hour movie), even though I can only watch it once per decade.

I like some of Nolan's films. Some of them a lot in fact. But overall, I think he is overrated on a lot of the work he's done.

Move below

If the viewer just wants to turn their brain off for 2 hours and watch a movie and eat popcorn, I can easily see how every Nolan film would suck and end up 30 minutes too long.

My favorite Nolan film is actually 'The Prestige' so this isn't why I think this last batman was overrated. I give it a 7.8 out of 10 which is a very good score for a very good movie. Its not 9.8/10 or even 9/10 IMO. The last one was my second favorite movie of his. Here is how I rate his movies that I've seen:

Memento = 7/10 : Decent but overall overrated
Batman Begins = 6/10 : I just didn't like it
Dark Knight = 8/10 : Again, awesome movie
Dark Knight Rises = 7.8/10 : Again, good score
Inception = 7/10 : Original idea, but overrated like Memento IMO
The Prestige = 8.4/10 : I really liked this movie a lot

I'm shocked by 7.8/10 for TDKR given your comment
I guess a bad Nolan film is still pretty good to you? lol

Thats true. I was harsh on it at first, again because of everyone else gushing and creaming all over his movies like a fountain of orgasms. Like several of his movies, I give them good overall scores just nowhere near as good as everyone else

Did the CGI get any better from the trailers? Cuz that shit looked fake as hell.
