Just saw Resident Evil

Resident evil was pretty good, I have seen worse horror flicks i.e 13 ghosts, that one didn't even raise my heart rate. Pitch black on the other hand sucked due to the lack of good acting, I mean Vin diesel can only do so much, the rest of the cast sucked. Blade II on the other hand would be my movie pick for this week.
 
i don't understand...

why do people hate resident evil so much?

did you expect violence and not get it?
did you expect action and not get it?
did you expect gore and not get it?
did you expect nudity and not get it?

did you expect a good story line?
did you expect a good heart warming ending?
if you did, then you don't know what action movies are all about.

i just don't get it.

i'm going to ask a few more questions.

honestly... answer these questions.

1. how many times did you find yourself sitting at the edge of your seat?
2. how many times did you feel your heart pound?
3. at what scene... did the suspense stop?

besides whatever cool gadgets that you saw in the movie...

whatelse do you expect from a sci-fi horror movie?

what other sci-fi horror/action movie have you guys seen that put the effect that it had on you?
the only other movie that i can think of is... Aliens.

and now, that movie is older than many Anandtech members.
you have to go that far to find another movie that was this good!!!

the reason why i bring this thread back alive...
is 'cause last night i had dinner with my friends.
and we were just all talking about movies.

and i said if they are into sci-fi horror... they should definately see Resident Evil.

they all laughed at me. and said... "isn't that a movie based on a game? how good can it be?"
while i agree with them in that i haven't seen another game based movie that was good...
this one is different. it was good for its genre.

hehe, it's funny how you refer to your wife as "this female friend."

my wife and i went to watch blade II when it first came out.
and not knowing that she can't watch gore we walked in.

she had palpitations during the movie...
and was upset at me for taking her to see that.... for 2 days.

so yeah... when they aren't excited to see something...
it's best to take 'em somewhere else.

needless to say, i took my other friends to go see resident evil.
