that is a kick ass cast, and this is a kick ass movie... i *love* those biohazard suits and the troops walking around with masks on and crap. awesome 😀

Wow, I haven't watched that in forever... I remember all the roles of the actors you mentioned except for Spacey...

I've never seen the movie, but I was lsitening to the vandals when I read your post 🙂

I've got an ape drape yes I do, there giving them to anyone and that means you, you can drive to riverside and get one too

he's the scientist that died cuz his suit got ripped open.

It's an alright movie, but it?s such a blatant rip of Stephen King?s ?The Stand.? Not the whole book, mind you, but the spreading of the plague aspect is quite similar. I mean, they even had a centrifuge! Why that idiot in the movie stuck his hand in a running centrifuge full of bio-hazardous test tubes is beyond me.

I know someone?s going to disagree with me, but someone who has read The Stand and then later watched Outbreak is just too high if they don?t see many similarities.

I like this movie, but I have a problem with Hoffman in this role -- for some reason I couldn't take him seriously.

I agree with morkinva. As usually, Hoffman totally overacts. I just can't believe an army officer would be so... I don't know what the word I'm looking for is, wimpy I guess.

The movie has more plot holes than I could stand. Most of what they do is impossible, as well.

They find a cure for a virus? In a few days?

Yeah, right.

The movie left me very disappointed.

I thought this was a pretty good movie too.

Speaking of Dustin Hoffman though, I just found out Rainman is on DVD. Strangely it isn't for sale anywhere around here...guess I need to put in an order at Amazon.com 😀

I like this movie too. It's one of those film where you don't have to think much and just enjoy the film.

<< The movie has more plot holes than I could stand. >>

I agree with you except that I did enjoy it because it was one of those movies where I could just turn my brain off for a while. Most movies like this I couldn't enjoy because I would be too critical of the plot but for some reason this movie let me get around that.

BTW, CKDragon, Spacey had a smaller role in this movie than the others; that's why you probably don't remember him.

They showed it on the flight when I was going to Kenya a few years ago, and I probably would have enjoyed it more in another time and place. I wasn't all that excited about going to Africa in the first place!

I first heard about "Ebola" in a story I read in "The New Yorker", Crisis in the Hot Zone".
Read it if you ever get the chance!!

Some freaky shizits...
