I'd heard a lot of negative reviews from my Christian friends (not really surprised about that...)... but I thought it was hilarious. I didn't agree with some of the humor (not a pot smoker, etc.)... but it was surprisingly thought-provoking.

Again... a lot of Kevin Smith's humor is foreign to me... but, I was impressed with this film.

Just my $.02.

I never saw it, but a lot of my religious friends said they thought it was good.
I just saw Jay and Silent Bob strike back a couple days ago, and that was actually the first J@SB movie I had seen. To be honest, I wasn't really impressed. I guess it's funny how they cuss a lot and stuff, but the humor gets real old real fast.

There are lot's of references to Kevin Smith's other movies in J& SBSB, you won't pick up on them unless you see them also.

Well I saw some of clerks so I noticed the reference to that early on in the movie, but other than that, I must have sure missed a whole lot of things

it was an ok movie if that. it's one of the few dvds i have where it'll be a very long time before i watch the movie a 2nd time.

Geez what were you guys smoking when you watched it.

Dogma was the worst peice of crap I ever saw. I liked clerks and mallrats but chasing amy was boring and Dogma was a car crash. When the sh*t demon came out of the toliet this movie needed to be flushed...no pun intended.

If Kevin Smith is pro-catholic I would hate to see him as a anti-catholic.

Dogma I thought was the best next to jay and silent bob strike back.

I have liked all his movies, Kevin Smith = owns

I didn't like the excrement demon.

I'd say Dogma and Clerks are Kevin Smith's two best flicks. Dogma was an amazingly good movie.

I'd just like to state my pleasure at the persuasive arguments above that vividly dissuade most people from liking the movie

Kevin Smith has said that the sh!t demon was a mistake and that it didn't work in the film. That's why I'm a big fan of his; he's willing to admit points when his films don't work and to criticize himself. Dogma was one of my least favorite of his flicks when I first saw it, but it's grown on me now.

Chasing Amy is my favorite, then Mallrats (the first one of his movies I saw), Dogma, J&SBSB, then Clerks. But that's just me. 😀

Anyone else listen to the Mallrats commentary track? LMAO, Ben Affleck is funny as hell during the gameshow scene.

Kevin Smith's cometaries are always funny. I believe it was Mallrats when Jason Mewes falls asleep during the movie, LOL.

Thirded. Buddy Jesus loves you.

MY LOVE FOR YOU IS LIKE A TRUCK BERSERKER! <- Name that movie!

WOULD YOU LIKE TO MAKING FVCK BERSERKER! <- Clerks 😀

I liked Dogma - not my favorite Kevin Smith movie (Mallrats ownz), but a lot of funny scenes ("No ticket...") and a very well-made movie. I've heard a lot of Christians don't like it because it makes fun of organized religion, but I think those people need to lighten up a little and actually watch the movie before making judgement calls like that.

Angels saying the F word every 2 seconds, Jesus decandant working in an abortion client, inspiration is a stripper, it seems the movie was just trying to piss off catholics.

kevin smith is awesome. I have and love all of his movies. I think Dogma is great b/c it never really is anti-catholic but rather it makes you question some of the traditional views of catholicism. I understand how some catholics can view it as an insult but they are too caught up on what is on the surface of the movie to look at the message behind it.

"tell me something about me"
"you masterbate more than anybody else on earth"
"everybody knows that"
"yeah but when you do it you think of Guys"
to bob - "not all the time"

The Mallrats commentary was great - these guys ripped on how bad the movie was over the whole two hours, then Kevin Smith says it was probably his favorite movie of his so far.... I love when during he commentaries Mewes will say something strange, and Kevin will be like, "Yeah, that's exactly right...." and you can just feel him rolling his eyes at the idiot. Funny stuff.

I have watched Dogma, J&S Strike Back, Chasing Amy, and Clerks.

Out of those I liked J&S Stike Back the best, although I did enjoy Dogma.

Chasing Amy was ok, but I couldn't stand Clerks. I watched it while I was half asleep that might be why I didn't enjoy it.
